I don't think you need to worry about Son being 30 and Kane being 29. Whereas in years past this signified the beginning of a player's decline, with modern sports science players can play at a very high level well into their early and mid-thirties. I think we have a good 3-4 years left from Son and Kane. Plenty of time to make a title challenge.

Here's an interesting article about this.

I did not mean that they would be falling off the cliff.

What I am saying is that they don't have time to wait around much longer. If Spurs fail to deliver chances for trophies, then they will look elsewhere. If we don't win anything (and don't miss out very narrowly at that) I assume at least Son would leave. It would be logical and totally expected even...

Players in this age don't want to hear about 2-3-5 years plans. They want to win trophies.

Now that we've moved on the unwanted players (Ndombele, Lo Celso, Winks, Reguilón, etc.) I must admit that our squad is feeling a little lightweight.

All the reasonable of us realized that this revamping process would take several windows, but it does seem like there should be some emphasis on winning now, whilst we still have a peak Kane + Son.
We really are going to let £125m+ worth of purchases leave on frees aren't we...

I hear Car has a decent engine but personally I hope we steer clear of him.
Good long pass, decent defender, think he'll be one who catches the eye and does well for whoever he joins but personally think he's not really at the level for a team contending CL places. Would be a decent Dier rotation for us, but he's a bit erratic and prone to cards, pens, dumb mistakes.

I always hear this creative MF bullshit. Do you fucking know how Conte plays? This is not part of his system.

And I hear this bullshit you just wrote.
And saw the bullshit game where we were exposed massively.
If Conte always will not prepare plan B and have some flexibility, we will be fucked, cause Moyes exposed our weakness and it will be in plain sight for every upcoming manager as well.

Stop taking some dogmas and repeating them like it would make you look smarter. If you never thought about half-tones, then consider this - there are also players who are not David-Silva-or-VDV type creators but some who have good engine and workrate COMBINED with better and more accurate passing as well..

Systems and approaches change, Conte did accomodate Eriksen while in Inter and in such games like yesterday he HAS to find way to create at least few chances from positional attack... yesterday there were 0 such occasions...

A creative midfielder can’t do much for us if we can’t get him the ball. Conte’s system requires technical center backs that can both pass well and carry the ball forward. They need to be comfortable using their options to commit and beat the first man. We’ve seen Romero do it which is why (among other things) he’s our best defender. My hope is Lenglet can do it as well. Conte just has to be bold and play him ahead of Davies.

It’s no slight on the likes of Davies and Sanchez, but they haven’t displayed these abilities for the most part. Davies does like to carry the ball forward occasionally, but I wonder if Lenglet would be the more complete CB for our system.

This is for Conte to sort out, our pass maps over the past few games have been pretty embarrassing. Romero being out has definitely played a part, but we can’t always rely on him staying healthy.

This can be true.
But was not case yesterday.

Yesterday ball was moved to CM with ease... and it never travelled past CM position.
West Ham kept backing off, backing off knowing fully well that our CM does not possess any goal threat and very little chance creation as well. And this is how they kept us on xG of 0,72.

Yesterday more creative and dynamic passer in the middle would have done world of difference.
