Not really, they're similar players. Passive defenders, doesn't make them bad. Torres better at playing the ball long.. more proven in a two. Bastoni much better at carrying, tight spaces and short passing. Pau Torres one month ago

Last time I was Torres.... CL semi.... He was getting absolutely rinsed.

Not much to do with Milans first goal. 2nd one he looked a bit statue like and watches as the ball goes in. 3rd one, he stands still and lets the attacker run through.
Kind of reminded me of Brightons goal in our 0-1 loss and how Dier and Romero seemed too passive after Winks watched the attack build.

I'm convinced that it's gonna unravel at Chelsea this season, there's so many distractions there, it's really not a stable environment at all despite who they may sign or who they've been linked to.

Didn't' take long then :nunothumb:

LOL at who laughed at this, the biggest Chelsea cheerleaders on the forum who were constantly twerking for them all Summer 🤭

But, but, but, Chelsea signed 7-8 world class players, giving half this board delusions of our failure, because they hugely outspent us. Fact = After seeing Fofana in the goal highlights, would rather have Lenglet, Fofana looked like someone at the start of pre-season, condition wise. Also think he is still Crocked, or, lost most if his athleticism if not, his run was putting way too much pressure on his hips.

Remember those people who thought e didn't need to spend £60m on a 4th forward and could get by with a less expensive one ?

Maybe Brazil's no 9 Richarlison's brace helped answer that question tonight.

Hard worker, good at getting into dangerous positions and scoring - not to mention the assist for Kane n last match. He's exactly what we need - we could never play the same front 3 game in game out given game frequency this season so we need 4+ top forwards to rotate into 3 forward positions.

PARATICI NOW WANTS TO REUNITE WITH THE MAN WHO FOUND LUKA MODRIC FOR TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Olly Dawes

Tottenham Hotspur want Riccardo Pecini with Fabio Paratici now keen to bring his fellow Italian in after his departure from Spezia.
Tottenham have revamped their recruitment department over the course of 2021.
Steve Hitchen and Brian Carey left the club earlier in the year and Paratici has been able to retool his scouting team.
Gretar Steinsson has come in after leaving Everton whilst former Watford scout Leonardo Gabbanini arrived in August.

Paratici may have one more move up his sleeve though with another Italian talent spotter wanted at Tottenham.

The new name being linked with Tottenham is Riccardo Pecini.

Pecini left his post as Spezia’s director of football just a matter of days ago.

The 44-year-old will seemingly be replaced by Eduardo Macia, and Pecini may be on his way to England.

Spezia1906
, Tuttomercatoweb and Firenze Viola all cover claims from Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX, which state that Tottenham want Pecini.

It’s suggested that Paratici wants Pecini at Spurs and the former Spezia man is now considering the move.

Pecini and Paratici worked together at Sampdoria between 2009 and 2010, before Paratici moved on to Juventus.

A reunion may make some sense, but it’s unclear what Pecini’s specific job title would be at Tottenham.

If Pecini’s name feels a little familiar to Tottenham fans, that’s because he has already been with Spurs once.

Pecini arrived as a Tottenham scout back in 2005 and left in 2008, working under Damien Comolli in North London.

Pecini told The Athletic earlier this year that he picked out Luka Modric as a potential Tottenham signing and pushed Comolli to sign him.

In that interview, Pecini added that Paratici is a ‘monster’ and highlighted that is great friends with the Tottenham chief.

That certainly adds some level of credence to these rumours of Pecini rejoining Spurs, especially as he is now free from his Spezia deal.

We were hunting for a RWB in summer and best available agreed to be Hakimi

I wonder what the reaction would have been if we had offered and paid the £85m PSG apparently demanded to sign Hakimi ....... Palestine prejudices included.

Would they have been delighted at signing the only best in class even 'world class' RWB available ?

Someone's political views are their own and shoulders he no bearing on anything should a potentially transfer be on the cards.

I have been trying to just go with the flow this season and see what happens, but I feel like I'm going to loose the plot. It was clearly a stupid notion, I'm a spurs supporter and I should have known better. Is anybody else concerned by the way we are playing, I am. Its starting to feel like mourinho all over again, and let's have it right.
This summers signings apart from perisic are all 2nd rate and we still have no creativity.. .
Another long slog of a season, only this time I'm not so sure the teams around us will let us steal 4th this time.........also my feelings on the ownership has and never will change, fuck the parasite and enic.

Judging by Conte 's team selections he doesn't appear to rate our summer transfer activity too highly .I really thought we would hit the ground running this year in terms of performance level that would show we would have a good season . I know when you look at the table things look good but I am in the camp of results catching up with performances and for me our improvement is small if any . Hopefully I am way off the mark and we up things in a big way .

Should never have been allowed to leave, he deserved a chance and didn't get it.
Apparently age doesn't matter, unless you are at spurs obviously. Where if seems talent doesn't matter... .

Aw look at you again, Mr Nigel, pretending you have some kind of insight into the spurs academy and who does/doesn't deserve a chance.

Took the training sessions did you? I apologise profusely if that was indeed the case!

To be fair his attitude was meant to be really poor in regards to time keeping and training. Got a chance at Norwich on loan and did the same. Even someone like Farke wouldnt pick him for a championship team. The Sporting coach mentioned it as well. Hopefully he's growing up a bit but you can see why we got rid.

Yeh, but did you not see the state of his car???????????????

(One manager's poor handling of the academy/loan system does not reflect the entire fabric of the club, so belt up with that rhetoric!)

Agree and if you look back at the transfer thread I said that window wasn't great with many of the players much of a muchness.
The windows was similar to Jose's one when many were jerking off thinking it was fantastic and get the football and tactics are the same as now except at the moment we have got away with it.

Richarlison.... Done great.
Perisic..... Top quality player.
Lenglet..... Clearly brings additional quality on the ball to our central defensive ranks.
Forster.... You were expecting fireworks and excitement from a back-up keeper?

Bissouma (Excellent EPL-proven; yet missed a vital chunk of pre-season) & Spence still both have work to do.

What's your problem with those players?

Only for someone with an extremely limited comprehension of football.
