Those are fair points, I was assuming he wouldnt go back to a club he left but you never know.

I would love for him to be our Simeone though. The football isnt the most exciting but seeing rival fans cry after we win and insist that our luck will run out makes up for it.

The 53-year-old continues to live in a luxury apartment within a central London hotel with his wife Elisabetta remaining in Italy with their teenage daughter Vittoria in her final years of secondary school. The thing with Conte is he is in it to win it. He isnt one of these managers who is happy to play nice looking football to come 3rd and to say oh well we nearly did it.

If he knows we are within reach of winning a trophy and he isnt backed he will walk away, regardless of whether we finished 2nd and had a good season.

Musing but maybe Conte didn't want to go 3-5-2 just yet as you're essentially giving Emerson the right wing by himself, that's a huge problem, now he has Doc fit we might see it more often.

Obviously before people start comparing Poch to Conte because the circumstances when each manager took over were very different,

But if anything this just shows the scope for improvement that Conte can reach if he continues to be backed.
