Match Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool | 6 Nov 2022 | KO 16:30 | Second Half Match Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I have no problem with Sessegnon starting this one.

His last two games against Liverpool he has locked Salah down both times.
I’ve got a massive problem with Sessignon playing he is very poor defensively and just to get him into the team Perisic has to play on the right when he his so much better on the left
Royal had a very good half when he replaced him on Tuesday and on that performance deserves his place in the team
We should sell Sessignon while teams still think he is a talented player which he isn’t

I don’t think we have any chance of winning this with Lucas in attack. He plays with his head down which is not going to help us use the spaces that Liverpool always leave.

Let’s have Perisic, Kane and Gil in attack. At least they can see a pass.

I can remember thinking the same when we had Chris Armstrong up front v Liverpool?
Spurs won 1-0 Armstrong!!

Defending is actually his strong point, he's fine on the left, on the right he's found wanting because he's not a natural RWB.

Really need to find a way to get a result in this one. A loss and we will most likely drop to 5th. Can't really see United or Newcastle losing their games.
Edit: My apologies. Tied with United but will be 4th on goal difference

Well some posters will now be happy that Son is out of the team but without Kula & Richie, even an out of form Son significantly reduces our scoring goals. Moura will get more attention and be even less effective. Shame the match is not away as we always lose at Anfield but it will be a blow to lose at home. 0-0 might actually be the best we can get under the circumstances.
I suspect Gil will get his first start in the League Cup in the week and although I support him starting, it is this message that the League cup is not important that has stopped us winning trophies. I would like to see him in this match for more than a few minutes but doubt it will happen.
The team I expect subject to injury update is
Lloris
Dier, Lenglet, Davies,
Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Bentencur, Sess
Moura, Kane

You're 1 man short.

Who sess? No way, Leicester and Newcastle both got goals where he was beaten in the air. Royal is useless going forward but can defend. Admittedly he’s shit when beside Sanchez but we all know that.
He is physically strong and can win headers etc,
Sess just looks like he could start crying at any minute.

In the air he isn't great, isn't aggressive or physical enough you're right but I was talking about his 1on1 defending which is very good.
