You see that called a penalty as often as not. What you want from the officials is consistency and there's not much on that call. Although I think it was a close matter I do think consistent with how it is normally called it was a penalty. He clearly shoved Sessegnon in a way that had nothing to do with trying to play the play, knocking him off stride.
And 10 min later gave us a free for less of a push outside the box

I've said it for ages, some of the fans that boo need to have a long hard think about what they really expect.

It's pathetic and seems to happen at every game where we're not winning.

It's embarrassing to be honest with you.
Mind you we booed him for his very first 45mins of football at the Lane. The majority of our fanbase is a mirror image of the scum I'm afraid, have been for some time. The only difference is we don't have an AFTV to amplify it. There are social Spurs accounts that do attempt to but they have a tiny following by comparison.

When you put those two together it looks unfair on us, and technically I think ours could easily be given and it would be fine and not overturned. But let’s be honest, these types of fouls are really common, and are probably only given as pens about 5%.

I thought Cancelo was really unlucky to get the pen and red - even though technically, possibly correct.
I would agree with that and 100% not a red (if ours was given a pen and a red for TAA I'd say the same).

But a push in the back is a foul and if done in the box should be a pen. TAA pushed Sess again about 5-10mins after and Sess was given a foul because it was outside the box.

I know, I remember that game against Leeds and we were losing 1-0 in his first ever Premier League home game for us and there were fucking tools booing. It riles me. Half the reason I think we don't have much success anymore is because the majority of our fanbase just melt and turn toxic over the most pathetic of things.

Can anyone explain how the fuck Allison got to hit a 40 yard pass 10 yards outside his box. Ah don't bother pressing.....
I can explain.

It's simple really.

We didn't bother pressing today or any day for that matter because our defence has no speed.

We can't push up and compress the pitch because our defence doesn't have the pace to recover. Our midfield sat on top of the back 5 to help cover them.
I lost count how many times in the first 15 mins, a simple long ball over the top and Liverpool were behind our defence.

Conte adjusted by telling them to drop deep. So we took away that long ball option, but then the pattern of play was to get in shape and we just allowed Liverpool to knock it about, hence 36% possession in the first half and 0 shots on target from us.
There's a moment in the first half where van dijk miss controlled the ball and it went for a throw to us. I went absolutely ballistic in that moment. A throw in to us in the opposition half and we had our defence on the edge of our box and the midfield standing on the halfway line. Nobody wanted to push up and press Liverpool.
We normally see in a 352 Hojbjerg and Bentancur press higher. Today they just sat back to babysit our dopey defenders.

I was criticised on here a few weeks ago for saying we should switch to back 4 instead of a 5 because people thought we'd be too open. But fuck off, if you've got defenders prone to brain farts then surely logic dictates you have as few of them as possible on the pitch.

We are conceding goals with 3 CBs but more importantly its hindering our forward options. Just fuck this idea off now. You can't keep conceding 2 goals a game with 5 defenders because we don't have the attacking options to score 3 goals to win.

The first goal conceded is a joke. Classic case of having men back but all doing nothing. Liverpool players with all the time and space to do what they want.

Think we are giving ourselves too much credit in the second half. Liverpool clearly took their foot off the gas and were more than happy to sit back once they got the second goal. I think it would have looked different if the game were 1-1 or 1-0.

There are times when I think booing is acceptable but I think that this is when it's clear as day to everyone that there is a serious problem. So I recall having a rant when Sherwood was in charge and I sat and watched us lose for a 3rd time in a season vs West Ham. I hated Jose more than anyone and I didn't even boo him at the stadium, as it wasn't quite the right time, although I was booing my TV screen when we were in lockdown and the stadiums were shut.

The hate the players get to these days is way out of line too. I know with certainly we won the UEFA Cup because were cheered Thomas all the way back to the halfway line after he missed his pen.

My heart sank when Eric gifted them their second goal, and I've not experienced that level of disappointment in a long while. I didn't think there would be a way back and felt so disheartened. I was on the verge of a massive melt and was debating whether or not to leave the game and sulk all the way home.
The individual errors are so annoying, and there's nothing Conte can do about it.
Much happier 2nd half, and we should've at least got a point out of the game.
Very sad to see Royal getting booed. Granted, we need better, but he tries his hardest, which unfortunately, isn't good enough most games.
Alot of negative behaviour from the crowd lately, but is this a consequence of our persistently negative first half performances?
My opinion is, keep your boos to yourself, or don't bother coming.
COYS!

Oh 100%, there are moments like you mention where booing is completely relevant, like last season when we were 3-0 down to United under Nuno. The club needed a change and the club listened but what good is booing a manager who has quite literally changed us over the last year for the better.

Theres boos for a manager when we're sitting in the top four and through to the knockout rounds of the champs league. Whatever you think of Conte's tactics or style, that doesn't deserve booing from anyone. No wonder our players shit themselves playing in front of some of the morons they play in front of.

Spurs fans who boo will turn the club and fanbase toxic and that's one of my biggest fears because it creates a narrative in the media that the 'fans arn't happy' despite the majority being fully on board with what Conte is trying to achieve.
