Competition World Cup 2022

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Would like to see something along these lines. Obviously won't happen and it's still far from perfect (lots of tactical deficiencies, defence would be exposed quite often) & would never win the tournament, but do think this is how we get in pretty much our most technically gifted footballers, bar Trent but feel Walker is 100% necessary to cover.*

On that, he's injured going in. Southgate better pray he's fit quickly as Trippier/Trent aren't bailing out those centre backs often enough.

... vs what I expect Southgate to go with. It's not a terrible side but if it made it past a quarter final that would be a huge overachievement.

Rashford isn't close to being good enough

Rashford isn't close to being good enough

Rashford's got 11 goal contributions in all competitions so far this season (incl. big game goals vs Liverpool & Woolwich), offers a direct threat in behind & is our only in form, natural left winger with Sterling at the weakest point of his career.

We need legs round Kane. Rashford does that, is going in to the tournament with renewed form, and is dangerous in big matches. United's most dangerous player atm, but not close to good enough for England? Can't agree.

Rashford is generally underrated. He's hit 20+ goals in all comps numerous times in his career and is far from a flat track bully. Got big limitations to his game & is streaky but aside from last season has produced every year for United.

No Dier?! Gooner

I'm literally pissing my pants with excitement and counting down the days till the opening game. Has there ever been a more glamorous clash between 2 of footballs biggest powerhouses? A stunning showpiece for the biggest sporting event in the world. Qatar vs Ecuador will be the game your children's grandchildren talk about. This colossal event can't come soon enough

Yeah I’m starting to look forward to it now. We are allowed to do that aren’t we???

Course we are. It's not on fans/players/whoever to feel bad about being excited for a World Cup, we're just pawns.

The big decision makers made their choices, they were wrong & that's that. Don't agree with it being in Qatar but it's still football, it's still the World Cup & I'm still gonna damn well enjoy it.

I really fancy Denmark. They were fantastic in the Euros and probably deserved to reach the final. With Eriksen back too they’ll be tough to beat.

Gotta be honest... Not really looking forward to this at all. And Wales are there finally!

Think it's a mix of strange time of year and the fact I work at home now so no-one to get excited about it with.

Excitement will build as it gets closer I hope!

I don't know if you've discussed this elsewhere and I haven't seen it, but I recall you were adamant that Sterling was top quality and would prosper even outside of the Man City footballing machine, I was one of those disagreeing with you at the time.

Have you begun to re-think your opinion on him yet? Do you think his form is down to something else coincidentally striking at the same time as his swapping City for Chelsea?

Genuine question, not just having a dig. On the surface, as I don't have it in me to actually watch Chelsea outside of them playing against us (and even that's a tough ask!), I'm inclined to see this as proof that he was being flattered by the Man City system serving him up with assists on a silver platter.
