The England fans are out in force and are singing those traditional England anthems that we all know and love.......

Are these the dudes that are getting paid?

I bet the folks that were getting paid for being US fans got reassigned after this

I know it's semantics; but neither are really wingers in the mold of Saka / Sterling (which I think Gary likes)...... Yes, in Pep-ball they're both more of a wide-FWD, but look how Gary struggles to get anything out of Foden.

Personally.... I've never seen Grealish as a wide-player of any kind.

Gary isn’t a good enough manager to lead a national side like England.

Would like to see something along these lines. Obviously won't happen and it's still far from perfect (lots of tactical deficiencies, defence would be exposed quite often) & would never win the tournament, but do think this is how we get in pretty much our most technically gifted footballers, bar Trent but feel Walker is 100% necessary to cover.*

On that, he's injured going in. Southgate better pray he's fit quickly as Trippier/Trent aren't bailing out those centre backs often enough.

Would need to play a possession / attack kind of tactics for that lineup to work. Clearly capable. Stones is very good with the ball.

I would be less concerned with defending if there is possession domination.

Rashford's got 11 goal contributions in all competitions so far this season (incl. big game goals vs Liverpool & Woolwich), offers a direct threat in behind & is our only in form, natural left winger with Sterling at the weakest point of his career.

We need legs round Kane. Rashford does that, is going in to the tournament with renewed form, and is dangerous in big matches. United's most dangerous player atm, but not close to good enough for England? Can't agree.

Rashford is generally underrated. He's hit 20+ goals in all comps numerous times in his career and is far from a flat track bully. Got big limitations to his game & is streaky but aside from last season has produced every year for United.

I like Rashford. He is very dangerous on the wing. With a passer like Harry he could do very well.

Yeah I've said it before - he's a budget Son. Really dangerous in behind defences, good dribbler, just nowhere near as good a finisher. But he offers that threat. Aside from last season he's been a good PL player with some standout CL moments. Think people don't rate him as he never lived up to expectations but he still remains a good player.

Great in big games too, had some really good games in Europe. England are lacking LW options and I don't think someone like Grealish suits Kane.

Yeah that was the 'fantasy' lineup - we'll never get close to it under Southgate as he is a reactive, defence first coach who relies on counter attacks featuring ball carriers & set pieces.

That lineup would be what we'd get under a possession based, progressive coach imo. It gets all our most technical players in, including Ramsdale who is our best keeper on the ball & White/Stones are our most technical centre backs.

If I had to 'predict' Southgate for opening day right here right now it'll be Pickford, Trippier, Stones, Maguire, Coady, Shaw, Rice, Mount, Sterling, Saka, Kane in a 3-4-3.

It’s going to be a bore fest isn’t it? We will probably struggle to score all game and nick a one nil win from a set piece near the end of the game. All because Southgate will line up with a 352 with 2 defensive midfielders then wonder why we can’t score.

Don't even think he does. He's happy with the 1-0 wins.

Iran game is going to be a total snoozefest.
