ENIC In or ENIC Out

The stadium and training ground are great. The top 4 finishes have been good.

In your opinion are ENIC/Levy serious about actually winning things on the pitch?

If yes why?
If you think we are likely to win under them, why?

Genuine questions. Would be good to have a rational explanation for why the ENIC hate is unfounded.

The next 6 months will tell us if they are serious or not.

At the moment it's up in the air...

Do you not think that a team capable of top 4 finishes are not capable of competing for trophies ?

Depends. At the bottom end no, under Poch and Harry and Conte for that matter we clearly prioritised the league over cups and have been mostly just about good enough to get 4th without a challenge for 1st place. So no cups and no 1st place equals no competing. The Chelsea season we really did compete though when we came 2nd.

We've done the same as every other club in many divisions.
You have championship teams playing 2nd string teams in cup games.
You have PL teams, that are not either challenging for the league or in danger of relegation playing their 2nd string.

I neither understand it or agree with it but it's the way things are at every club.

We've been in numerous semi finals and finals with no luck, which suggests that the team (with luck) is good enough. Or at least has been in the past.

We are at a major crossroads though imo.

Maybe Poch playing Sonny at LWB in a semi final has something to do with it, or playing reserve keepers in semi finals.

Who knows, unless you are suggesting that Levy picks the team.

Great, now you've opened up this can of worms again

Normally we get to a semi then hit a team with real depth like Chelsea and Hazard or someone comes off the bench to kill us. We huff and puff but at the business end lack the real deep quality needed. Obviously luck is an element and that generally goes against us but we always look underpowered in key positions when we meet the best.

That's fair.
Our record against other top teams is relatively poor.
Thing is we lose against lesser teams in the cups as well, so maybe depth is the issue.

I still maintain that if a team is capable of numerous top 4 finishes then they should be capable of winning stuff though.

Problem is that 99% of trophies are won by pumped up fake clubs.
It's going to get worse now with Newcastle getting the cheat codes.

Then we need to try and compete with them or fuck it off. Football is a bit shit now though really. Newcastle isn’t going to help:

Do you think Lewis and Levy have mobilised a 24/7 ‘war room’ to get the club back on track and deliver a successful January? Or are the pair of disgraceful spivs busy burning £50 notes in the Bahamas, quaffing champagne and chuckling to themselves at our expense?

And how do we do that ?

We don't have the cheat code so can spend nowhere near the amount they do.
Then we fuck it off. Or go the Dortmund route and just go for a youth policy and sell to the big clubs for profit. Just admit that football has a defined structure that won’t change when it comes to Spurs.

I’d be ok with regular Spurs academy players getting a chance and the odd European adventure. Might not fill a 60k Arena or justify the highest ticket prices in world football though.

Well, it's an option I suppose. Not one that I would advocate but each to their own.
