Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There's probably something in the contract that penalizes Conte for walking out on his deal- otherwise I feel like he would have resigned by now. For me the more surprising thing is Levy being reluctant to sack him with less than 6 months of contract remaining. Is Levy that worried about eating 6months of manager wages than 6 months of opportunity-cost for Spurs as a club? Seems a bizarre miscalculation to me.

Walks: Sacrifices remainder of contracted wages til June.
Sacked: Paid til June.

Standard stuff. Managers very very very rarely resign.

There's £7.5m in the balance for Conte.

Oh completely. If he walks now, he’ll miss out on three/four million. If he’s sacked, he’ll get it all. Hence the completely detached interviews and shrugged shoulders.

He gives zero fucks.

My issue is he doesn’t seem willing to change the dynamic. Different formation, different players, higher line, something. It’s just same every game.

The frustration is, that it has worked and has got results previously.

Against Woolwich we had

More shots on target
More possession
Won 75% of all aerial duels
Put in twice as many crosses

So why did we lose???

Hugo threw the ball in his own net.
Son missed 2 clear chances.
Sess missed a clear chance.

The teams confidence is shot. They are hesitant on the ball and are playing scared. Hugo's howler killed us for the remainder of the 1st half. We played very well in the 2nd half and dominated them. We really should have levelled the game, but we failed to put away decent chances.

Surely it’s time for him to go and hopefully the new manager can at least focus on the fa cup or champions leagu ( Chelsea, city, psg aren’t in great form)
Right now we will be lucky to squeeze by Preston. He has lost the dressing room ( as shit as some of them are) but he is too stubborn to change so time to move him on
Saka is one of the most inform wingers in the league…double up on him maybe?
City are going to tear us a new on on Thursday because he will send out the same 11 in the same f ormation.
Fuck him.

Today's Conte proclamation that only 2 teams can win the league is more than enough to see this Bastard sacked. If Conte had got his finger out of his hole yesterday and won the match then Woolich next 2 games are Man Ure and Man City, a real test for a team that lost a big derby.

Add in 2 of our next three games are against City, where two wins wold see us get level with them on points.

Conte should be out there giving a war cry, instead Antonio Fanny is busy looking to wank off two teams we should be putting pressure on.
Agree. His attitude in interviews has gone from telling the truth to just sounding like a coward

Playing Son is costing us. I honestly thought Conte would be more ruthless.

I think he has definitely lost his enthusiasm since Ventrone died. I think with Vialli passing away as well he doesn’t really want to stay away from his family for much longer. The injuries, poor form, lack of transfers, Kane contract situation, I don’t think he has the appetite to deal with it any more. I get the same feeling I had with Poch in his last season. He’s just going through the motions, his heart isn’t in it anymore.

Conte has to blink first. We have to know whether he really wants to make a go of the job. His family are still in Italy which considering the hard year he has had can not be easy. If he is not going to sign then levy has to rip the plaster because we are in statis at the moment. CONTE acts like he is doing us a favour. Fuck that shit we are one the greatest clubs in the land. Join us or fuck off. If on the other hand he signs then levy doesn't back him I will be levy out. But Conte has to make the first move.

Hence the leaks last night and today. I posted some bits from Gary Jacob in the Times in the transfer thread, which detail the situation. He won’t back Conte until he signs the contract. I knew levy would go down this route and create a power struggle at the club because of his short man syndrome

If that is the case, I just wish that he could hand the reigns over to Stellini for the games.
If you are still grieving and your head isn't in it. It is perfectly fine to hand game management over to your assistants. It's what they are there for.

So he's weak, then time to move him on.

Life goes on, I bet there have been and are managers who suffered bigger, closer losses than a mate or a colleague and carried on regardless. Injuries happen to every team, no excuses, form is something a manager can do things about.

This is supposedly an "elite" manager?

that was only a consideration of a fan, it is not the truth.
you draw conclusions based on nothing, just because it helps you to substain your crazy conteout thing.
skoochout would be huge better

Now that's a proper fucking laugh. But hey, maybe you're right, maybe he is elite and is just doing a great job hiding it.

People who say Conte was not backed need to give their head a shake. We backed Conte as much as we were going to back any manager and he is partially at fault for the signings we did make. The fact is we all knew the priority in the summer was a left center back. Conte wanted his top choice Bastoni or Paratici's top choice Gvardiol, once those two were off the table he did not like any of the players offered.

The fact is Conte is not the root of the problem but he seems to go against the plan that they developed after sacking Mourinho.

The fact there seems to be no plan again and they seem determined to zombie it out for the rest of the season with Conte baffles me.

Contradicting statement. You say people who say Conte wasn’t backed need to give their head a shake, then in the same sentence say Conte wasn’t given his preferences and given signings he didn’t particularly want. So, he wasn’t backed was he? Another manager being phased out by these gutless owners and that bald incompetent bastard
