Too simplistic mate.

You're right in that we need better CBs, but when you're getting outnumbered week after week after week in the middle of the pitch, then the tactics have to change.

Teams with much worse CBs than ours have conceded less goals.
Teams with worse centre backs than us that have conceded less goals than us, have, funnily enough, scored less than us too.
The teams with better CB's than ours, City, arguably Arse, have outscored us whilst conceding less.
Chelsea, with 10 less goals conceded have scored 18 less. Liverpool 6 less conceded, 8 less scored.
Their defences are all at sea and they're struggling to score because they're spending more time defending than they're used to.

If we have defenders (and a keeper) that the players further up the pitch trust, you have a more cohesive unit. At the moment it feels like the defensive and offensive units are playing two different games.

At this moment in time, with our squad, I believe the only way to plug the leak is for our midfield, and even our attack, to drop back and help out more. And if that happens, this place be like.

Don't think Sporting is interested in taking players on loan. Sporting's business model is to buy cheap young players from South America, develop them, sell them for a profit and repeat. They are not in the business of developing young players for other teams because there is nothing in it for them - Why would Sporting have their coaching team increases the value of a loan player for Tottenham's financial benefit?

We continue to be "Interested FC" and "Monitoring FC" - We need to just pay the release clause for Porro or move on. Frustrating.

I'm glad you agree that a change of tactics is needed.

If we can't change the players, then there needs to be a change in roles for the ones we are using.
I don't think we "need" to change the 343. I just think the 4 and the 3 need to help more. But the effect of that will be even more boring football and more fan unrest.
What might help is trying someone who isn't Son for a while. His touch and ball retention at the moment is awful. Kulu and Kane are doing ok but often find themselves without a pass because Son looks like he's locked in a wardrobe.

If you play with 5 across the middle it leaves room for a creative AM.

What does everyone think of Mitoma as a summer signing to replace Son?

Would be eye wateringly expensive but he seems like the type of player Conte wants. He's comfortable receving the ball deeper in midfield and then making stuff happen, he'd be able to feed chances to Kane which Son just doesn't do.

Like Kane and Kulu, and unlike Son, he can be left alone to retain possession under heavy pressure high up the pitch, while Benta/PEH push forward to provide numbers in the box.
