A lot is going to depend on whether Kane and or Son are still at the club. I dread to think of what happens if they leave and ENIC try and replace them on a shoe string budget....

All I know for now is that Lloris and Dier and Sessegnon need replacing top priorities.

Levy would have to have Kane on drugs, to get him to stay on at this circus.
He has a few years left of playing, but is stuck at a club with no design on achieving anything, other than top four to provide additional income.
If they go, they will be replaced with some random rubbish, probably on loan, and certainly not as good.
Most of us expected much more, once the stadium was introduced, but in reality the club is no further along than before.

I agree in your logic on Kane staying but there have been some substantial rumours he is looking to sign a contract extension. I have no No idea why either...

Even as a fan, I have no idea why he would stay.
The club is a mess again, no one knows if Conte is staying past this season, paratici is in trouble abroad for dodgy dealings.
Allied to that, we have a chairman, who has never shown any desire or interest to produce and see a successful club.
If he stays he is wasting his remaining years, at a club that doesn't know what it wants to be, or perhaps it does but wants to do it cheaply.

If I was him I would just run my contract down and then leave for free summer 2024. The market for him will be huge and he will be pretty much be able to name his wage anywhere across Europe.

If you're being flippant; apologies in advance, but good luck finding a bank that's gonna lend you half a billion quid to play trf roulette.
Money's so cheap at the moment, even with latest rise in base rates. Mortgage's wrong word but large loan could work. Serious question where is Boehly getting his beans from?

I hope the club now what they’re doing and have a long term plan. Because it looks like our competition do and are in it to win.

If the goal is top 4, we will fail because we’re competing with teams who want to win and as a result will get top 4. I’m not even sure if top 6 is guaranteed with Newcastle involved and even Brighton now.

Are you suggesting ENIC take a loan or Spurs?

(ENIC - well Lewis - could inject their his own cash; but it's pointless discussing it as it's clearly not their model.)

Serious question where is Boehly getting his beans from?

List of factors:

- Himself; as rich as Lewis
- In turn part of a larger, exponentially richer ownership conglomerate.
- Suspected links to Saudis
- The terms of the Roman sale and write off of their prior 1.6bn debt stinks to high heaven.

Kane won't be able to break Shearer's record overseas and a Man Utd move may not net much in the way of trophies. ENIC would be wise to outbid everyone on wages too. He'd still be mad to stay if Levy is in charge.

If by some miracle Kane signs a new contract or ENIC don’t push him out for money, a serious club would go really hard at the next summer window.

Top shelf talent at:
GK - 40m
LCB - 70m
CCB - 50m

And a midfielder that’s different to what we have - 40m ish

That’s a 200m window. Maybe bring some money back in finally from outs and it could be done. Do it and this squad isn’t miles away.

Kane goes it’s a totally different window.

ENIC take loans for their other investment companies I assume (haven't checked co. house but this is a verifiable investment strategy.)

I would want the most financially sound deal for the benefit of Spurs (don't know what that looks like). Thought just occurred to me today, we are OK with debt to pay for the stadium and have enough cash to repay that, pay expenses and have a moderate transfer kitty.

So would we be OK with the club taking out debt to buy players providing we can of course make the repayments. I am just trying to play the other side because if we're stuck with Levy and ENIC maybe its time for a new recruitment and investment strategy,

Yeah it smells really off to me also. I would be surprised if it's Ted's own cash though, the options for labyrinth accounting in these set ups is vast, especially if it's some sort of debt financing.

Well it feels like were rather constipated by the current one (damn we need to shift some players!).... However, taking a big loan in the name of a couple of 'big windows' is a pretty short-term "strategy".

At the very least you'd want a trusted, 100% committed man in the dug-out and a DOF with the same qualities if going down that path..... We don't have either currently (Fab, you twat!).

Cess pit of a club..... Bound to be something scummy going on.

Yeah fair enough, our other options seem to be:

- find new evil billionaire owners
- find new kind billionaire owners

Agreed and coming in hot there

Hate them as much as them lot. My Barbour's ruined where my mate tried to grab me to stop an assault on John Terry who came over to the south stand deliberately to celebrate a goal. Fucking pocket came clean off. Fortunately I was so seething about the jacket JT got a pass that day.

Hasn't every one learned about amortisation yet? This helps cash flow not FFP. There will be a fee for the service though so Enzo is more expensive than reported.

Would be mad if the cash was from roman owned company, not sure that can be true with sanctions etc.
Amortisation doesn’t help cash flow? You can pay 50M upfront (impacts cash flow) but depreciate the cost on the P and L over the contract at 10M per year (doesn’t impact cash flow)

Is it unreasonable to think we can unearth one player at a lower price thru good scouting?

Amortization means if you pay in one lump or over the course of years it doesn't matter for ffp as you spread the cost out regardless.

By using this company it means they spread out payments helping cash flow.
