I don't want Poch personally, but it he does come back they need to actually back him and stick by him during the bad patches. There needs to be a long term plan with Poch.

I don't give a shit if we're 8th next season and fans are crying for him to get sacked. If he's your guy, then fucking back him.
I think the club is in a situation now, where, if they want to go with a longer term plan, it could see us finishing 8th or 9th for a bit, then hope they can claw their way back in.
Ridiculous mess to be in though, those decisions, not to back him previously have come back to haunt us.

Yeh, I'm sure the way that search engines work that, as long as you you googled the words "Ndombele" and "targeted" then all the goods will just magically pop to the top of your page.

.........Funnily enough, you might have run into the very reason why I can't be arse to go looking for such old comments, tweets or articles.

I'm not the only one to cite such comments (not even in the last page or two!); but if you wanna instead conclude that I'm just lying then c'est la vie.
Surely put the words in and the items show up actually is how search engines work ...

Confused High Quality GIF

If you know what was said verbatum then yeh....... Only 7/8 years of results to rifle through though.... Then times that by multiple players..... Then repeat the process on twitter.....

Yeh, not sure I crave the' W' that badly.......

He MADE that squad over achieve on a shoestring. Do you honestly think any other manager would have achieved more with it?
Mourinho tried and failed spectacularly

Mourinho definitely came in and told levy he could get more out of the squad. It’s been said subsequently since of that I’m sure. Poch had to operate with both hands tied behind his back. I guess it makes it a bit different than usual when levy only does it with one hand!

I’m not certain Poch will come back either fwiw

Do you go to games?

There’s a reason that what fans want is at the very least listened to / heard by the owners and has a direct effect on the players.

But Arteta finished 8th/8th/5th to get to this point.
The 5th place finish they threw away 4th place to us. A total meltdown.

Are you are saying you would be happy with that over the next 3 seasons?

No guarantee what comes in season 4…..
I know that fans are listened to, thats how Nuno got the sack. I just think its more important for the board to have their own plan and to stick with it regardless of what fans might say. Nuno was a last ditch appointment so they probably werent that bothered about getting rid of him.

As far as Arteta is concerned, he inherited an absolute mess and was still able to win an fa cup. That is probably why they were a bit more patient with him even during his bad run.

Managers have to earn time in football, its not just given to them. They could see the trajectory and predict that he was going to improve in the 4th season. Thats why he was given time and Emery wasn't. Because they could see something with him that they didn't with Emery.

Mourinho didn't have peak Toby, peak Jan, peak Dembele, Walker, an interested Eriksen, peak Rose.

Poch was great, but that's anything but a like for like comparison.

If Pochettino does return, which is looking likely imo there will have to be a fair few big player leaving if it’s going to work.
Kane, son, PEH, Dier, persic to name a few that would be unsuitable for a high press high defensive line

I think you're mistaken rather than lying fwiw and I'm happy to be proven wrong, i don't care one way or the other really whether they were his targets or not, but i haven't seen anything conclusive that says they were so when people call them his signings i question that - especial given his comments re his involvement in transfers.

Steve Cooper is excellent, what he did at Forest last year was unreal, and this year he's shown that he can adapt and be flexible...and it's not that easy when your chairman signs 23 or 24 new players. But I think he needs another full season in the PL before he makes that big step up.

Glasner is a very good manager, more experienced than SC. Ready for the big time? I think so. If we could get him to come over and bring Kolo Muani along for the ride, I'm in.

That's ok too.......

I'm perfectly comfortable that I've not hallucinated similar comments from multiple players, articles etc. over the years.

Something tells me you didn't google very hard..... Look what I just found with very little effort:

Imagine what else you could find if you dug deeper than I just did. :)

Definitely not the right move for Poch. Which is why I think it won't happen
I see it the opposite way, I think it’s by far and away the most likely and feels inevitable.

Poch checks a lot of boxes but more that it suits Levy than anything. He’ll hope Poch can turn shit into gold again while we struggle offloading overpriced players. Maybe he’ll be able to convince Kane to stay on for longer, and Poch will do wonders for appeasing fans for a while.

It‘s cynical and short-term thinking, but so Levy it hurts.
