I'm flabbergasted only four people watch Conte to stay, I didn't expect him to be leading the poll but level with Carrick? Didn't realise how unpopular this opinion was but if Conte wants to stay and keep going there's nobody I'd rather be our manager at the current moment.

Think Frank at Brentford has done a really good job there but I'm not sure he would be suited for us

The thing is he did get rid of dead wood at the start of his reign - Adebayor, Kaboul, Townsend, Paulinho, Holtby, Soldado… players who AVB/Timmy had built their teams around but who Poch very rightly saw didn’t have the right attitude or were too inconsistent to take us forward. And then he built up a team with a blend of quality and youth. If he’s completely up for and aware of the need to utterly ruthless again, which will include despatching some of his previous core players, then it could work for me. I’d also want to know he’s over his emotional breakdown post-CL final… which seemed to linger a bit.

Yeah when it wasn't the team he built he was a ruthless bastard and we needed it now. But a few years down the line when it was his team, and the same issues came about he didn't have the guts do it. And the same deadwood that needed to be replaced when he left is still lingering around this club. Players like Dier and Sanchez have survived 4 managers since they where signed and both should have been gone about 3 years ago.

Add about 8 others on that list as not good enough and need to go also it's a major cull this side needs not only for playing ability but attitude. It's the same core that's bottled about 4 great chances for a trophy and it's obviously a attitude issue within the side cause the core is rotten.

I genuinely whole heartedly believe that the only players in this side who should still be here within 4 years are Romero,Skippy, Benta Sarr, Undogie, Porro and Kulu everyone else is either not good enough and needs to be sold was good enough but time has caught them up or will retire. The full scale gutting this side needs is bigger then anything we needed for at least 15 Years imo

And we need to pick the right man to do it and give them time cause the mix match squad isn't helped by 4 managers in about 5 years who all spent money.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this one is flabbergasting to me.

The only surprise to me is he has as many as 4 votes. What are you seeing to think 'yea i want more of this'.

to prefer Carrick or Gallardo or Kompany to Conte...tells it all.
months ago many would have voted for Potter, now they don't dare obviously

in any case, Conte is the one who wants to leave, so it's not strange he received only 4 votes

I actually think that Cooper would surprise people. He's very highly regarded within the English football system for his work with the England youth setup. And he has done a very good job at Forest.

Not saying that I want him. But it would fit our pattern of having good underwhelming appointments.

In all fairness. Every single name on that list is a decent manager (down to Rose)
Congrats to Airfixx Airfixx ,it's a well drawn out list and in theory they're probably all realistic options.

One thing we all know though. Deep down. If we're being honest with ourselves.
They would all ultimately fail with Levy / ENIC and we'll be back here again within a couple of years.

:pochcry:

That's why I've stuck with Antonio. Proven winner. Just needs the right backing and the players he actually wants. He's got a great record of winning silverware everywhere he's been.

After all. The majority of us voted for him less than 18 months ago.

He just signed a long term contract with Forest, obviously he can leave but I don't think it would be a good look to do that after their owners showed a lot of faith in him by giving him that contract at a time when people thought he was going to get the sack.

Antonio Conte. Why,? Because he has said many times that he needs more than a couple of transfer windows and patience. He should stay next year and prove his worth

Conte is the best manager on that list and the reason I wanted him so much originally is because I stupidly assumed if we’re getting him, he would actually be backed properly as he’s never been a project manager.

As we’re clearly never going to change our approach as a club, I think the best we can hope for is Poch returning and trying to mimic what he did in his first spell. I’m very unsure if this will work as the league has changed and has honestly just become even more competitive with more top teams to worry about. But given the situation we’re in right now I think Poch is the best bet
