Probably wouldn't be able to name 10 better pure attacking midfielders in world football than him. When you narrow it down to those who are actually gettable, that list gets even smaller.
Would never work in a Conte system. Which is why I assume we never pursued it. Would be pretty good in a 4231 though with Bissouma and Bentancur behind him.
Watched him quite a lot for many seasons. Probably 3-4 years ago was a player who would change a game in a moment then do not much else. He is now a more complete player, he can dribble, tackle, score and is quite press resistant but his main skill is play making, his stats have been the past few seasons up there with De Bruyne and Foden. By far the best player at Leicester.
Conte doesn’t really use these type of players but he would be gold for Poch. The cheap alternative might be young Alex Scott but that would be a gamble as he is talented by raw.

Conte hey! Rather soend £40M on WBs rather than creative midfiekder or £60M on a forward who runs around a lot. However he seems to have stopped running. We need quality with CAPITAL Q not quality with a capital K!

Reality is Bastoni is contracted to Inter until June 2024 and Inter didn't want to sell. So Inter can say no to any bid from anyone - and did.
Sadly no top class CB's moved last summer (despite Spurs being linked with half a dozen), that we wanted (other than Bremer who wanted to stay in Italy - hence no CB's coming in other than Lenglet on a one year 'try before you buy' loan.
I can only assume you didn't follow last summer's transfer window otherwise you would know that.

Everyone keeps banging on about elite defenders, but look who has the best defence in the league - Newcastle. Unless you think Dan Burn, Botman, Trippier, Lascellas are world class.

On paper, Emerson, Romero, Dier, Peresic Should be excellent. Add to that Porro, Sess, Leglet, Davies.

It would be nice and in truth a surprise if we were able to buy 2 or 3 players who proved to be success stories.

Shouldn't be Maddison or Alex Scott, it should be both. Scott can play central midfield, Maddison can play off the right in a 3. Good options and we just need some more good footballers. Obviously won't be both because its us.
If we go down the Poch route or for that matter any coach that uses AM’s we have to, we are short that role.
