Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Glad he's called out the players and owners. Said what we've all been saying - the cup exits and acceptance of shite performances are a joke.

I am sick of him though, his football is like watching paint dry

This is pretty disingenuous. He's very rarely accepted blame for his poor tactics, negative (or invisible) substitutions, his inability to rotate, etc. When he has, it's mostly been lip service.

He's an egomaniac, and is constantly blaming others.

You act like this is the first time he's blamed the players, it's not.

Yes, he's said a lot of stuff today that a lot of people agree with about the board and the players, much of which I agree with.

But let's not act like he's taken his share of blame or that he hasn't been mostly backed or that he hasn't had a full summer and season to implement his style. He has. And the longer he's been here the worse it has looked.

It's his job to work with and improve what he has to work with. He's failed and is blaming everyone but himself.
When do managers ever accept blame for their tactics and substitutions? He's not the one who has won fuck all for 20 years. These players have failed under multiple managers. That's his point.

Of course he's an egomaniac. So is Klopp, Pep, Fergie, Shankly and just about any other successful manager. It's not a job where shrinking violets succeed. You need to be a bit of a cunt to be successful.

Expecting him to say it's all my fault is foolhardy, no other top manager would do that either. I say he's fucked it up here, let him go out all guns fucking blazing and maybe some good will come out of it. Calling out the owners and players is long overdue.

some of the stuff he’s saying may be true and needs to be said, but Antonio mate, if you want to leave just be a man and resign. Nobody’s stopping you, feel free to fuck off at any time.

He isn’t the club it’s not his job to sell Dier and buy a new guy in. He is the manager not the chairman. I am sure he said buy this guy, sell that guy. He can’t make it happen though.
you would of thought that before he initially agreed to join he would of had some understanding on some of the shit we had and got the club to promise to shift the shit and replace with quality. why would you sign up with a defence that bad with no promise of improving it?

the fact hes had one fucking system that puts stress on our already dog shit defence is criminal! its fucking braindead shit! is this the efforts of a manager trying his best with what hes got available? who goes into games with suicide tactics exposing your weakest links

but then why hasnt he made it paramount that shit like dier, davies, sanchez and lloris was shifted out in the summer and the backline was built no matter what? his tactics put stress on an area we are pathetically weak! it was never going to work.
We don't know what was promised and not delivered in the summer. I would guess Lenglet on loan was not Conte's full wishlist.

We knew he used a back 3 before hiring him and we also knew our CBs were dross. I would assume there were promises of upgrading that area and it just hasn't happened.

I think that creates an uninspiring culture and over time the new energy with winning mentality (Romero, Bentancur, Kulu, Porro) slowly gets worn down and start coasting like the others.
This is an interesting point. Young players with good mentality can't exactly override the authority of players like Kane, PEH and Davies can they?

I remember Kulu doing a cheeky "don't take free kicks any more please" when asked about free kicks on some Danish podcast or something. Kane is obviously an egotositical twat and even after Porro came in he forced his way into taking free kicks.

Skipp can't really tell off Dier for yet another loose pass which he has to scramble to recover.

The point is that people applauding this prick is pretty weak.

I'm not sure what planet people are living on where they think our players haven't been slagged off by him before, or by other managers, it's happened.

Sure, slagging off the owners is fun but let's not act like the guy hasn't been, for the most part, backed. You can laugh at our history but it's not like Conte wasn't given quite a lot to work with.

At the end of the day, everyone is to blame, but anyone applauding this prick on his way out needs to think twice.
