Life is full of unlikely turns. So every time someone gets the sack for failing, they become out next manager. Its a weird profession, you fail but other teams then chase you !!!!
It's a bit different with Nagelsmann though, he hasn't failed, they're sacking him, allegedly, because they fear he "might" fail, if this thread is anything to go by.

It's a weird set of circumstances here, and I worry that there's something else in the background that has contributed to this and that we're unaware of.

The rumour is he and Oliver Kahn didn’t get along as well as one or two other people on the board and they had Tuchel available.

Not really a stackable offence though is it? Nor is being 2nd in your league and in the running for both the title and CL. If any of us got sacked because the guvnor "didn't like us" we'd have major grounds for wrongful dismissal.

I don't know what his contract allows for, but I really can't see that there'd be a "we can sack you if we don't like you" clause in it.

Like I say, the whole circumstance is extremely weird to me.

Like they sre unsure about hiring someone who has won something recently ?

looks like he will join but needs time off so only at the end of the season.

Make it happen and stick with Conte until then. The only other interm option would be Mason as nobody else would take an interm role knowing that Nagelsmann is coming.
It doesn't look like he will join. It's just a lot of speculation based on comments JN made 3-4 years ago. Truth is no one knows at this point, which is normal as he just got sacked yesterday.

Patience.

who does?

Would prefer Mason until end of the season and then new guy/Nagelsmann than Conte continuing.

Also if Conte gets Top 4, he's able to extend his contract by a year and due 15m.

Can't see any world where Conte comes back, as funny as it would be.
He can't unilaterally extend. He might get some bonus, but that's about it. Although to get a bonus for getting top 4 when you're already getting paid 15 mil is ridiculous.

Nagelsmann is the one, give him a 5year deal.
Stick to the project. Very good coach and plays great football will also have a point to prove after Bayern sacking.

speaks perfect English too.

if we don't get him it will be the best opportunity missed by Enic ever IMO

He's a fraud, this season's Brendan Rodgers.

One swallow doesn't make a summer.
Not sure about that. Intelligent player, learnt his craft at Guardiola's side, I think he's showing himself to be a better manager than we gave or give him credit for.

Yes, he's a ludicrous figure, sulky and stroppy, yes, that whiteboard nonsense was hilarious, yes he looks like a cunt, but that's true of Wenger, minus the Amazon embarrassment.

Not a no

Pop the champagne

we have to wait the end of the season, see where we are and what competitions we are going to play next year.
if we finish 6th, with the conference league to be played, with the kane's issue, we could afford at most nuno-like coaches

There's no sense to this reasoning at all..... I understand waiting if the right guy isn't available until the summer, but essentially your suggestion amounts to "wait to see if our appeal deteriorates".

Conte made his position untenable; it's over.

If JN is our man, then just nail it and start looking to the future. If that means Mason as caretaker then so be it.

If by some miracle we get top 4; Pep isn't gonna suddenly come running.
