This season is a top notch rollercoaster.
I watched first half of Newcastle vs ManU... and ffs, Toon could have scored 3 while ManU never threatened. Properly outplayed.
But as Spurs fan, I could not help but to think... Newcastle players are not anything that spectacular. But given the right coaching, system and motivation, their passing game was really logical and easy on the eye. Players moved. Ball moved. Teammates opened up passing angles. Players carried the ball.
FFS is there anyone that would claim that this Toon side has more technical ability compared to Spurs??? I doubt it. It is all about mentality and approach. I know-i know, I get repetitive for myself as well and starting to annoy myself as well with this, but that just proved to me what kind of absolute cancer Conte was for us. Making pretty much everyone scared of the ball. Killing all kind of creativity and substituting with just lumping the ball upfield. Everyone seemed more afraid to do something wrong than wanting to do something right. All confidence eroded. No belief left and only hopes being set-pieces or situations where opposition fucked up badly and gifted us chance.
I really want to see some balls in todays performance. Dyche will not make it easy, I know that.
I want to see 5-3-2.
I want to see
------------Forster--------------
-----Romero-Dier-Lenglet---
-Porro----Skippy---Perisic---
---------Sarr-----PEH----------
-------Kulusevski-Kane-------
As far as I understand we cannot use Bentancur, Bissouma, Davies, Sessegnon, Royal and Richie.
So our sub-bench is really fucking poor - Lloris; Sanchez; Tanganga; Moura; Son; Danjuma.
A GK returning from long layoff; two CBs who I would not want to touch even with really long stick; no-output striker that has done nothing this season and is soon leaving; loanee who has got 0 chances and surely is leaving and possibly checked out already... and out-of-form Son. Safe to say we ain't gonna see 5 subs used up ....
Pretty spot on team this. Son has to play though. He is getting back into form and is undroppable. He can go through that purple patch and I reckon it starts against Everton tonight. A front three of kulu, kane and son with the shackles off has me foaming at the mouth. This is a new start tonight. We need to play positive front foot football and we win easily. Everton will be defensive but I am confident we can make the pitch wide. They with try to crowd the middle and double up on our wingers when they can. We need to play those intricate one twos down the wings. I reckon kulu and pdero porro will give them nightmares down that wing. We got this.
