None of us really know at this point, but I get the impression that his role would be a step above that level. Tactics and style of play would probably be dictated by a DoF, whether that is Paratici or not. My guess is that the DoF will report to him and he will take over the entire footballing aspect of the club, more focused on the entire infrastructure from development through first team.

The group he is coming from is more about creating a worldwide network of football clubs to maximize efficiencies and marketing, which he was CEO of. My guess is that Levy will want to replicate some of that work more than bringing him in to dictate style of play.
Tactics and style of play would start with him though, he'd be the guy who's appointing the DOF based on a set of criteria, which should be to get a coach and build a team to play in a certain way. At least thats what you hope his criteria would be and he would oversee employing the right staff to implement that across the whole club, academy, scouting, even womens team.

True, but my guess is that his focus won’t be on style. It will be on building a global footballing structure.

The more people between Levy and the actual football operations the better. Literally, everyone knows Levy's kryptonite is football. (IMO he's probably the BEST football administrator in the game).

It's clear that this role is required, seeing as Paratici (or new DoF) will report into him, which means we are also concentrating heavily on the DoF function. By that I specifically talking Levy's ability to appoint and keep faith with this function, Levy has hired and fired almost as many DoFs as he has Managers! This cycle has to end, or at least ensure that as a Club you back the philosophy that identifies you, if you hire and fire DoF's but the principles and identity of football remain the football is at least protected, and any churn in the DoF dept is us finding a diamond.

He'd be a great appointment, his system has such a high ceiling.

What’s his experience with top flight football? Seems to an administrator acros different sports. Has he any professional football experience? It’s amazing people but these roles who have had no experience as a professional in football. I may be wrong but to me it just means under levy we now a number of spin business area and football is just one of them, well Tottenham Hotspur fc is just one of them.

Probably another dickhead with an MBA and experience in ‘cross pollinating revenue portfolios with a view to expanding marketing footprints’.
To be clear he is absolutely not a football person full stop, he's a business-side person with a business-side resume, making this title a little weird. It's more like a second attempt at the Trevor Birch appointment, remember that?

The good news is that Levy is not a moron, it's clear he understands an operation at Spurs' current scale can't be a three man leadership show of a manager, a head of recruitment, and Levy himself like it's still 2004. You need management and lines of authority. Having the actual football operations of the men's and women's teams do their operational day-to-day reporting to someone who isn't Levy is a sensible step even if entirely meaningless in terms of Levy's power and control.

What would be even better news is if this is someone willing and able to speak publicly about the club and its operations and plans. Because, like, Jesus H. Christ look at that announcement. Can we get a picture of Scott Munn? A quote? Literally any explanation about what the job is at all?

Don't be disappointed if this guy is just a PR lackey. PR lackeys is actually one of the most critically deficient areas at the club. I don't see much in the way of public communication at his previous posts though, I guess we'll see.

It's also quite funny and revealing that amidst all the tumult over Paratici, there was not the slightest whiff of this from any supposed club insiders in the journalism community. Remember that next time someone claims they know what's going on inside Lillywhite House.

He doesn't have to be a football guy to be a great asset in creating a modern and efficient sports organisation. If he's a great leader and a great organiser, he employs people with the right experience.

It's all over. The billionaires have won. The financialisation of everything is almost complete. The hardcore support only go to sustain the nostalgia, but the club is so far removed from what it was when they started going, many of them are giving up or checking out. Not even got the connection to the stadium anymore, being where you were as a kid. At least it isn't in Stratford, not for the want of trying.

Pretty soon, it will be all Korean and American tourists and generation FIFA, with their disinterested partners watching their phones and trying to ignore talk of"CDMs" or whatever fucking stupid name they come up with now. Whether they will want to stump up 80 quid a ticket to watch the 2030 answer to Gary Doherty playing for 8th place remains to be seen.

But by then, the go karts will be in full flow so the bottom line should still be good. Newcastle will be on their way to a 5th consecutive title with Arteta in charge, so that's something to look forward to. At which point, Real Madrid, Bayern and Barca will finally have enough support from City, Utd and Liverpool for the Superleague. Spurs will join of course, and we go from midtable premier league to rock bottom of the super league, without the respite of relegation. I have seen the future; a billionaires boot, stamping on the face of a fan in a half and half scarf, forever.
Just wait until Enic sells out to Disney...then it'll become "Spursworld", complete with rides and a chance for a kickabout with the resident players all wearing kane/son costumes and masks...

Don’t know anything about this bloke, nor his role and responsibilities but this is a big step forward.

Great move

Yet again, Levy / ENIC slip out a major announcement outside the normal press cycle.

From the website statement, Daniel Levy, Chairman: “Scott has a unique and broad experience of running sporting organisations at the highest level and will take responsibility for the leadership and management of our football activities to instil best practice both on and off the pitch.”

So this Munn guy is in charge of all football activities at Spurs, but none of us know who the fuck he is, and he seems to have no background in European football whatsoever.

If we going to take a chance on someone with no experience in European football, I'd rather appoint Gallardo as head coach.

This Munn appointment sounds like the usual management consultant, pass the buck, bollocks from Levy & ENIC.

Seems a totally pointless appointment to me....must be something underhand going on....I know...along with NFL, we're going to have Australian rules football....well done Daniel. Another string to your bow...
