Just a reminder of what was. Forgot how much movement there was from Son, Dele, Kane and Erikson when we had the ball in the final third. Crisp quick passing and players making runs to open up chances.
When the counter-attack isn’t on - Conte ball is SO STALE - No movement - Just a couple of guys standing in or around the box waiting for a speculative crosses from the wingbacks. Lots of goals off set pieces though … especially corners this season so that’s a plus - Not very entertaining however.
I’d really like Poch back with a mandate to be ruthless in clearing out the deadwood from the squad.
Remember many games like that at Wembley , teams would just sit deep and compact and we just seemed to hope for a moment of brilliance from Erisken! It's funny because even during that time I remember people complaining about our lack of movement and struggling to break teams down.
So why were they (as a team) getting progressively worse by 18/19 under Poch?It doesn't matter what you tell the players. They do what you practice. If you only practice low defence, parking the bus-football, that is what the players naturally will do. And honestly that's the football the players have practiced under Mourinho, Nuno and Conte.
Really, do you need an answer to that again? So why were they (as a team) getting progressively worse by 18/19 under Poch?
Take the CL run out and that season was pretty poor.
Can't blame Wembley as it happened at the new stadium too.Remember many games like that at Wembley , teams would just sit deep and compact and we just seemed to hope for a moment of brilliance from Erisken!
I know it’s not an excuse but I don’t think Wembley being a big soulless quiet stadium helped matters , as in our last season at the lane we used to be out of sight by half time in some games
not from you I dontReally, do you need an answer to that again?
It’s been done to death
Fair points , I’m not saying Wembley is the reason and should be used as an excuse , however I do think it played a partCan't blame Wembley as it happened at the new stadium too.
Lost at home to Ajax, West Ham, Newcastle to nil.
The team was just on the decline. Toby and Jan getting old. Walker gone. Rose finished. Dembele gone. Dele showing signs he was finished, Wanyama getting injured a lot. People say the CM2 of Winks and Sissoko got us to the CL final. It also saw us lose 7 and draw 2 of our last 12 games.
3 wins in 12. Palace, Huddersfield and Brighton.
Liverpool have stuck it out with Klopp and will re-invest in the summer instead of dropping him when things got tough.
It's Klopp's way or the highway, no doubt players were sick if him but they know they can't outlast him so they have to stick to it and find a way to play better.
There is no contest between Liverpool as a club and ENIC Hotspurs when it comes to winning culture.
I don't even know if Fenway are that much wealthier than ENIC but they have a big time mentality, ENIC are lightweights and don't have any drive to prove that they aren't. Small-time, pass-the-buck mentality and leadership culture. Sack the manager, shift the blame.
Poch stillIn an alternate universe somewhere...
- Poch was backed
- We signed Bellingham from Birmingham as he saw that youth got a chance.
- Grealish was signed from Villa

I dont think Levy would've dared sacking Poch if he had won a:
Premier league Title
FA Cup
Champions league
League Cup
European Super Cup
World Club Cup
So i dont think you can compare Liverpool being full ride or die with Klopp.
that's probably the reason why he not coming ...
