Management Fabio Paratici

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Well this is what happens when you rebuild, you're not going to be able to replace every single player in a short space of time so it will inevitably have holes in it.

What you need to ask yourself is is the squad in a better state than it was before he came in yes or no?
There's holes in every position , gaping holes at that

It's marginal if it is

He's no great loss

New DOF to come in, sounds like not before the new manager though. Always a farce with Spurs.

The club is aiming to replace Paratici with an external candidate, who will report to incoming chief football officer Scott Munn, who is due to start on July 1, when his gardening leave with City Football Group ends.

Ideally, Paratici's replacement would have a leading say on the identity of the new head coach but Spurs are reluctant to delay their search for a new manager, with Chelsea also recruiting in the same market and a number of leading European clubs likely to be looking for a change in the summer.
It's a bit reverse order but it can work. You just have to involve the manager in the recruitment process to make sure that they vibe.

Not a single player came in and improved the team this season

"Fixed the recruitment"

I just don't get this
Yep. Despite Levy’s constant barking about “look at how much we’ve spent, it clearly doesn’t equal success”, it’s hard to think of the start of a season in recent memory where we could look at our squad and think yep, we’re a whole lot stronger going into this season than we were last year.

And that includes any of Pochettino’s seasons, the best manager we’ve had in the Premier League era. In not one of his seasons did we go in thinking our squad is significantly better than the previous season.

It’s just a shocking indictment.

Erm. Our squad was definitely better in 16/17 than it was the previous season.

People claiming that Munn is just some "marketing geezer" that doesn't know football or sports when he has worked in sports for two decades is pretty funny.

Why have people decided to turn on the guy before he even gets a chance to start his job? Christ.

This is utter nonsense from Levy.

Scott Munn knows fuck all about potential Directors of Football, or potential Head Coaches. He's a marketing geezer, seeking to maximise revenue and improve "corporate processes". He has zero experience of European football.

The board (Levy, Lewis' daughter, and Lewis - if he actually gives a fuck), need to set out a clear strategy for our famous club - such as playing attacking, high tempo football, signing talented players in their late teens / early 20s with the potential to become top class (as we did with Modric, Berbatov, Bale, Verts, Walker, Eriksen, Gazza etc), and giving opportunities to our most talented Academy players.

Then, they need to appoint a DoF who shares that philosophy and has the knowledge & contacts to deliver it effectively.

Finally, the DoF needs to identify the Head Coaches who are most likely to succeed within the agreed strategy.

But it's clear we have no plan. Just more bland statements from Levy & co.

I'm sure the Headless Panic will soon set in as we watch other clubs secure our preferred managerial & playing targets.
You are so right. Munn another fucking bean counter Funny how Lex Levy can get these appointments over the line quick as a flash. His priorities are clear.

....Oh god...the bots! There coming!!!!!!!

Oh he is a marketing geezer involved in sports! Nrl Aussie rules the Olympics.... Oh and Melbourne???
And how is that different than most other clubs? There's marketing geezers/bean counters in charge more or less everywhere. Van der Sar at Ajax is a outlier and had to work his way up the organisation. He didn't just get the job because he "knew football".

It's counterproductive to turn on the dude before he has had a chance to even start his job.

In 2 years we've had 3 full time managers leave and 2 DoF (counting Hitchen as thats pretty much what he was). 5 of the most important football people gone in 2 years. How can anyone think this is normal? Keep saying it, in any other business the person overseeing that mess would leave as well.
Must be exhausting doing the mental gymnastics to continually support this regime, yet a few die hards on here refuse to accept the war is over.

This man must go before this club can move forward, the sooner we get everyone on board with that the better for the club.

2 years he was at the club, he was responsible for the signings who came in in which the vast majority have been positive.

The current state of the squad isn't 100% down to him, if you're bemoaning previous players that weren't signed under his tenure then why is he to blame? If you expect those players to be sold then you need to get real - we are still suffering from the previous poor recruitment where we have a maximum number of players out on loan that we need to get rid of.

The fact that we don't have a creative mid isn't down to him, blame the manager who didn't want one, same for CB's blame the manager who was totally inflexible in his targets.

So far so good IMO he bought in some good players who the next manager would be happy to work with, youngish players with potential who you can actually work with which is a far cry from the likes of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon type transfers.

He ain't mean to be doing marketing with us....... Out of depth does not even come close to describing the appointment...

People here have been banging on about Barber at Brighton...... He fits the same "marketing suit" profile as Munn FFS.
