Yeah we're not in a strong position. We are now going to be reliant on over-performing to a large degree, as we did under Pochettino. The hope was for many fans after appointing Conte & getting top 4 that we'd be able to flex a bit.
I don't think that's happening. We could go the Woolwich route and take a gamble on big investments to try and force top 4, but is that how ENIC operate? Is it how they've ever operated? No. Expecting it is folly.

So a similar window to 2021 then. Apparently 5th will get Champions league next season. I dont know how much of a difference that will make.
Deki and Porro will cost 70m. Kane will get sold for at least 80 which covers that. Then we probably spend 60m on a GK and two CB's. Probably get some loans in as well.
3-5-2 is the formation that suits our players. We'll probably play Deki in midfield with Bissouma and Lo Celso until Bentancur is back and have Richarlison and Son as a 2 up front.
It won't be pretty but I'd expect to challenge for 6th which gets us into a competition that we can actually win and get Levy his champions league money.
We will need to replace Kane if he goes. No way we sell Kane and don't sign a CF - whether that's Toney or someone else. We're not going to go in to next season relying on just Richarlison at CF when he doesn't have 1 league goal. They're not that incompetent, we only got away with only having one CF for years because it was the best one in England.
Sell to buy = a genuinely good new DoF could have room to work by selling Emerson (and bringing back Spence), selling GLC, selling/loaning Ndombele, selling Rodon etc. The biggest issue facing this club in the summer is selling the dross and being able to re-invest. Paratici failed hideously on that front, but its a fucking hard job.

Fact is, I'm not sure he is 100% the answer but the facts of the matter are we're a total mess, it seems we've no idea what we (and by that I mean the club itself) have no idea what to do next, the guy is available right now but we're looking the gift horse in the mouth. We're watching him go to Chelsea while we decide which bottom half manager we want to pounce on when they get sacked in the summer. Thursday could be messy.

These absolute thrashing are more common than they ever were.
