Reminder that a few months ago gooners thought the league was done. Even citeh fans were giving up.

But they didn't bottle it.

The amount of tweets I've seen from them saying they didn't bottle anything is staggering.
The scrambling to defend the collapse as an overachievement.
Whereas if it were ANYONE else...

Funny how it’s “annoying” when it’s them, they don’t seem to mind calling other teams bottlers though

Thing is David. It's not about City and them winning games. You were so far ahead they were irrelevant, you just had to keep focused but you 'bottled' it.

If you had performed better, there would have been nothing City could have done, except wish they had taken more opportunities earlier in the season. In the end, you just ran out of steam...

It was a huge collapse. We still get mocked for our capitulation when 3 up and losing 5-3 but this is on another level entirely.

As always those tramps are too quick to believe their own hype. They blew it in a laughably pathetic way.

Let’s be honest: Woolwich are a 75-80 point side that were statistically very lucky for the first 2/3rds of the season. I doubt they’ll ever get to Liverpool’s level of 90+ point seasons.

Still loads better than a 57 point side unfortunately.

I really hope they blow their load on Rice this summer, he's a solid 7/10 midfielder probably do alright but I can see them spunking 80 odd mil for him and I don't think he's even better than this season's version of Xhaka. I doubt Pep will do his old mate any favours like jesus or Zinchenko now they're actually challenging them, I still reckon Arteta overrated as fuck and they'll have a hangover season after getting so close and fucking it, if the odds are right I'm sticking a tenner on them missing top 4 next year.

He's improved them, I think it was clear that even when he had them finishing below us you could see who he was developing the team.

I am utterly convinced that this season was messed up by the World Cup being bang in the middle of the season and it affected the trad Big 6 clubs the most because they had the most players combined mins. All except Woolwich that is, they had by far the lowest number of combined mins. Through into the mix they were in EL and not CL which means they could (and did) rotate their squad heavily, you can't do this in CL and you have the ingredients to see improvements on the pitch, less fatigue, fewer injuries etc

The has been no trad big 6 competition, we've been shite, Chavs even more shite, Liverpool shite, Man U have looked ropey as fuck (they've taken just 1 point away from home against the top 9 teams this season, also getting spanked by their biggest rivals conceding 6 and 7 goals). Even City were way off the pace in the first half of the season, only really looking sensational from about 2 months ago.

Their squad is still paper thin and next season they will be in CL, so no luxury of rotation. This season they've dropped off at the end of the season just as they did last year, so without a bigger squad the same will happen again. Of the players he bought in only Trossard looks any good but he is still behind Martinelli.

I think it's fair to say they can compete for top 4 spot but Liverpool will also be do this, Man U will too, with Poch in at Chavs there's a chance they will too but Poch has to have a flyer or else their fans will turn. Not confident at all about us as we have no manager and DoF so nothing to make any judgement. Depends on who they sign but I don't Expect Newcastle to be near the top 4, they too have a thin squad and will be in CL.
