Tbh I’m not really sure that’s the case. The whole narrative being written was just strange, in the sense that why would it have been Slot that was negotiating his own exit from Feyenoord yesterday and not Spurs negotiating with Feyenoord? It smelled fishy to me from the start.

My own theory is, we were very interested in Slot, but our own negotiations with him broke down days ago (possibly the same time their DoF told us to do one) and yesterdays meeting was always just about a new deal for Slot. The journalists were either just diverted well by Feyenoord or they put 2 and 2 together and got 5.

Then why let the story run?

They squashed Nagelsmann twice.

Feyenoord have just schooled them in how to use the media to make it fun to be a fan of their club. They also schooled them in how to run a successful football team.

I'm surprised at this latest turn of events but agree with the rest.

No idea where we go next.

I’m surprised but I’m also not surprised we’ve fucked it up. I bet it was something to do with the compensation. Feyenoord wanted £20m and we’ve refused to pay that so he’s signed a new contract.

Pointless guess who it would be now or trusting any reports that it will be x or y until the next poor bastard is in the hot seat. Club is obviously a complete mess.

That was 15 years ago now , how time flies when you’re going down the crapper. In my opinion arsehat Levy has managed to get worse with more experience . At this rate by 2026 he will be Peter Ridsdale and we will do a Leeds . Staggering how he just gets worse and worse and more dislikable with every day . Getting Ledley to speak up for him I think was absolutely pathetically weak .
We might actually be in a position where, we do a Leeds, by not actually doing a Leeds.
We don't push the boat out and go for it, but have found a way from a position of strength to be really shit.
A unique and special club, that is indeed being quickly taken down the U bend.

I didn’t think we could eclipse 2021, but we’re genuinely very close to doing so. Every viable choice has either told us fuck off, sighed a new deal or we just haven’t bothered talking to them.

And then you have this whole “oh we’d rather appoint a Sporting Director first” bollocks thrown into the mix which is clearly a massive problem too.

It’s a mess. A complete and utter mess.

It is worse than 2021 just because of the quality of candidates being better and us screwing up appointing any of them.

Kane wants to wait to see who the new manager is before signing an extension.

So Levy waits 4 years to appoint a new manager.

Genius.

Tbf we couldn’t really come out with another pathetic statement like we did with Nagelsmann. That was truly laughable stuff.

Now I’m seeing reports we actually sent Slots agent into the meeting to negotiate on our behalf, which Feyenoord obviously didn’t like.

We knows what to believe, but there is no doubt we have fucked it up somehow.

Pochettino
Gallardo
Naglesmann
Slot

bundle of managers who play attacking football and develop players which is what we need and looks like we somehow missed all of them. A giant open goal and Levy seems to have kicked the ball and somehow scored in his own net.

I’m not sure. You’d have to question why any sane person would want to manage us and work with levy. His reputation used to hurt us bringing in players, now it hurts us bringing in managers and director of footballs.
His pressers last week were a concern if I'm a Feyenoord fan.. "If I'm still managing in Holland in 3 years then I have failed"

Loyalty shouldn't be ignored, so fair play to him, but as soon as it starts going down hill, Feyenoord won't be afraid to pull the trigger on sacking him. He's missed the opportunity to manage one of the big Premier League clubs.. A bad season for him with Feyenoord now ruins that chance.
