Haha it’s not bullshit. It’s exactly what we did with Conte in summer 2021. We talked to him, he wanted to bring a lot of staff with him and we thought it was too expensive so Levy went limp. Then months later we ended up with Nuno because all the good managers weren’t pathetic enough to take a job that 7 other managers have turned down.

Levy’s strategy is very clear. He focuses on unemployed managers. Any manager who is doing well at a club will not come here because Levy will have to pay.

I'm no Levy apologist but he doesn't focus on unemployed managers. He paid compensation at the time for Hoddle, Ramos, Redknapp and Pochettino. If it's true he wanted Slot he would have paid the compensation too, but not the ridiculous 20 mill being mentioned. Ffs he's not Guardiola or Klopp. 5 mill was just about right.

Yes, at the time BUT last three managers appointed were all out of work at the time.

The old (younger) Levy had a bit of ambition, the new (older) Levy is a cowardly tight cunt that has zero clue on how to run a football club.

Barely any money spent on coaches that weren't on big wages.

Villas Boas out of work as well. Poch the only one we paid compo for out of the last 5 and we initially wanted Van Gaal who was out of work after finishing with the national team. Its a pattern.

Absolutely. Don’t forget, we went for Poch at the same time that the Southampton chairman resigned. There was an opportunity to pinch him with minimal effort and money.

Aside from Poch, every manager we have hired in the last 11 years has been recently sacked. Levy has not been willing to hire managers who are doing a great job at a stable club. Those managers cost money.

If we can't even get Slot we really are in the shitter.

Let's be real Dutch football is shite, any Dutch manager should be all over the PL whether you have European football or not
According to the Dutch reporter on Talkshite this morning it was more of an issue for the club than Slot. They somehow stuck a 20 mil price tag on him and apparently, Slot didn’t think it would happen. Who knows. I find it odd that people baulk at that price tag for a manager though. If he was the one they wanted, it isn’t a lot of money these days.

Hey ho. It’s going to be Brenda fucking Rogers isn’t it?

Yep. Cortese wasnt it. I think Poch had an agreement that he could go if Cortese left so it was easy to do and cost peanuts.

That's not true, at the time it wasn't easy to prise those managers from their respective clubs because of the compensation the club's were demanding. And my response was to the claim that Levy doesn't pay compensation which was just wrong.

Like i said, no other club would pay a ridiculous 20 mill for Arne Slot so why should we. 5 or 6 mill would have been just right and even that is overpaying. Utd paid 2.5 mill for Ten Hag!!

Just needs sorting..

Maybe as fair to see it as Slot not having the confidence or character to take on a big job.

Many are saying joke club (i'm not necessarily disagreeing) but maybe just maybe we dodged a bullet..

I mean how many derided Conte's initial blank?!

So why was he even looking at Slot if you firmly believe Levy only employs sacked free managers????

Would you have paid the 20 mill that Feyenoord want?

It's a negotiation, and like every single one since about four Prime Ministers ago, it's a negotiation in which Daniel Levy has failed to adequately advance the club's interests, and has had his justifiably poor business reputation weaponized against him.

The scouting report is out against Levy. Bluff big and you've got him.
