I'm sure managers are looking at us and thinking, "They don't have a DOF. They may not be in Europe at all. No idea what the transfer budget will be. No idea if Harry Kane will be there either"

I wish our pundits/interviewers grilled our coaches and players like this, instead of the sycophantic post match arse licking our managers get every week.
Yes and no.

Specifically to this interview:
The main man leading this interview is like Piers Morgan, all mouth no substance. Hasn't done any research about the subject, for which he is viciously slapped down, by which point I'm kinda rooting for Ange, which means Ange is let off the hook somewhat. This is a poor interviewing technic as you want to see some hard but fair questions and if they are delivered respectfully, the answers should be revealing.

But this is basically only achieved if the interviewer can be bothered to do some research.

So, if the interviewer knew his stuff then there's the potential for that to be enlightening.

But where I agree is the absolutely pathetic interviews in football today are totally useless, all of them frame questions like "you must be so proud of the performance today" ? "how does it feel to be top of the league"? When a team loses, it's "you've got Leeds next week, a game you'll be looking to bounce back"?.

I rarely watch any manager or player interviews because you learn nothing. The only ones I watch would be Spurs ones but since the dinosaur, I rarely bother as I have no interest in listening to them making excuses for being shit, whilst trying to convince me they are doing a fantastic job even though their £15m pa hands are tied behind their backs. Working miracles.

The best football interviews I've seen in the modern era are those with Bielsa, when he's asked a football question on a formation, or tactic. He speaks with such passion for the game, he holds the room (the only difficulty is they've been via an interpreter).

How the fuck can you say that he is better than slot!!!! Who the fuck has he managed. Fn Celtic in the Mickey mouse league while getting humiliated in Europe!!! Australian league - it's fn crap! And the Japanese league with the biggest team in Japan.....

He will get humiliated in the prem and look like a fn rabbit in the headlights. He will have 3 months tops.
Yeah, his european stats are abysmal. Got fucked by any good team he came across. Knocked out by FC Midyylttjand and not even closed to leaving group in CL, EL or ECL.

Nothing says he's ready to get us back into silverware.

Going by the roilling stones Angie seems made for us.

Angie, Angie
When will those clouds all disappear?
Angie, Angie
Where will it lead us from here?
With no lovin' in our souls
And no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
Angie, Angie
You can't say we never tried
Angie, you're beautiful, yeah
But ain't it time we said goodbye?
Angie, I still love you
Remember all those nights we cried?
All the dreams were held so close
Seemed to all go up in smoke
Let me whisper in your ear
Angie, Angie
Where will it lead us from here
Oh, Angie, don't you weep
Oh, your kisses still taste sweet
I hate that sadness in your eyes
But Angie, Angie
Ain't it time we said goodbye? Yeah
With no lovin' in our souls
And no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
Angie, I still love you, baby
Everywhere I look, I see your eyes
There ain't a woman that comes close to you
Come on, baby, dry your eyes
Angie, Angie
Ain't it good to be alive?
Angie, Angie
They can't say we never tried
Angie

We are nowhere near silverware, get that idea out of your head. To even think about winning silverware you need a football operation that functions properly.

When we have a DoF signing exciting players and developing talent, when we have a coach that plays aggressive, winning football and a team that shows real spirit, we will be ready to talk about silverware. No manager can be expected to deliver silverware in our current circumstances.

I said this last time (when we appointed Paratici) and it turned out to be the case I think, but maybe what’s happening right now is Levy/Munn are concentrating more on getting the DOF appointment sorted out, and then including him in the head coach consultation process.

All the noise about managers, is probably mostly just that.

Would really help if Levy/Munn communicated with the fans/media about the process. The communication vacuum just creates a bullshit vortex.
I think this is projection BUT I am fully on board with it!!

My confidence is so low that I'm trying to convince myself that they've been sensible, retrospective business people and have carried out a root and branch review on the football operations and reevaluated the poor decisions and reminded themselves of the good decisions and now have a handle on the way forward (but deep down I also know they haven't done this and are almost certainly bouncing from coach to coach acting like David Brent in a Spurs kit without having a DoF to back up any idea of strategy.

On the communication: whoever is behind Chavs PR dept has to be poached and brought in at Spurs. Their ability to lose £2m per week with CL revenue, to spend £600m sacking elite CL winning coach, replacing him with a (good) but midtable cooch, only to sack him and bring in a guy that has a win % of 4%, spending £70-£80m in manager comp, finish 12th (maybe as low as 14th depending on results on the final day) their lowest placing in 30ys, having picked up just 3 wins since Jan all against relegation-threatened teams, score one goal more as an entire team than Haaland has on his own, have no shirt or sleeve sponsor for next season, still not confirmed Poch, No Cl revenue, increase the 2nd highest wage bill in the league by a further £90m, must sell players by 30th June to avoid FFP sanctions, +41 1st team players. All this but somehow the only team in crisis is Spurs.

There is a war that has to be waged out there and we are fucking terrible at setting or being ahead of the narrative, always on the back foot, always the last to know. When we do try to get ahead of the arc, we look like total amateurs e.g. the Nagelsmann is not preferred by us

I think we wanted the Feyenoord DOF and manager and once the DOF turned us down Slot didn’t want to come either and we’ve been back at the drawing board since the weekend.
