Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He wants Shearers PL record, no way is he going to give up on that by moving abroad.

He could win that staying with us plus have the one club legend tag if he stayed with us. Real Madrid is the biggest thing in football, much bigger than Shearers record which isnt even the real record, football didn’t begin with the prem, Dixie Dean and Greaves got more than Shearer.

Garth Bale is the most successful British footballer. He did that because of Madrid. If your leaving your boyhood club Real Madrid is the clear option if you are good enough.

Yeah the biggest club in the world, living in
Madrid, La Liga titles, a decent shot at the champions league, playing with Modric, Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Tchouameni and doubling his wages might be a tough call.

It doesn't matter if he would prefer to stay and play in the PL. If is was me I agree I'd be straight on the plane to Madrid, but with Harry I just don't think he will want to as weird as it sounds. We shall see.

He is too close to that record to give up on it now.

Also I don't remember him saying he wanted to try playing and living abroad.

I think Real will go for either Osimhen or even Richarlison. Possibly even wait a year and try again for Mbappe or Haalqnd.
If he's that bothered about the record and as Tomo says its not a real record anyway, then he'd back himself to do 2 or 3 seasons in Madrid and then come back to the prem somewhere for another 2 or 3 and seasons and break it then. He probably would as well.

But he’s also said he sees himself playing into his late 30s. It’s a huge choice for everyone.

In Levy’s shoes - 1. Foremost he wants him to sign a new contract. 2. If he won’t do that he’d want to keep him for 12 months rather than sell to an English club. 3. If Madrid or someone abroad offers a decent fee this summer he’ll sell him. Like with Bale, he took a lower bid from Madrid to sell Bale there than what Man U offered. Plus Bale wanted Madrid. But that’s where Kane might be different.

In Kane’s shoes - nobody honestly knows but him and his family. All else is guess work.

Basically anything could happen.

Kane isn’t pace reliant. He will be elite till 36-39. He could in theory do 3-4 years at Madrid, win shit come back here and still break that fake Shearer marketing record, it’s what 48 goals more, he could do that over 3-4 seasons when he is 34-35.

Personal view is to turn down Madrid would be totally mad.

Where I agree is thar Kane wants ti go down as number one PL striker in terms of goals.

He probably also knows that has greater longevity than this boring he deserves a medal sh!t.

What happens who knows but one medal over a long standing record needs context.

He could be a bit part player and get a medal. Big fcuking deal. Or it ciupd be the Cops Del Rey.

Some people just spout crap.

Yeah, Bale has such a huge legacy even though Kane's goal tally vastly surpassed Bale's a long time ago.

The only caveat might be that RM are not what they were in the Ramos, Ronaldo, Marcelo, peak Modric era. Kane's (hypethetical) RM generation will not be on that level. Kane probably won't be getting the same recognition as a result.

United made two cup finals this year. He's a good enough player to help United to a 90ish point season if they sign well on top of him, at least a player with his mindset will think he has the chance to compete for a title there. We're looking to offer Eric Dier a new contract and our Social Media team posted an Oliver Skipp season highlight package earlier today.
Wow that will be great watch 🙈🤣

Cannot understand so many posters in favour of letting our best player leave. As a fan, I say sod the money it is more important to have a better season next year. I believe Levy is now in last chance saloon and will keep Kane to have some chance of not hearing 'Levy Out' at every game. Despite what some say he is a fan or why put himself through watching so many matches. Joe Lyons does not go. The problem with Levy is not that he does not care but he has made too many mistakes in the last few years. In any case I doubt a decision will be made until we have a Director of football and a Manager. That will not stop the media speculation daily.

Want him to stay but if he ain’t signing a new deal and it’s £100m and Madrid better that than zero and potentially even Chelsea the following season, at the very least it will be one of the Manc clubs. I hope he wouldn’t do that but who knows.

Agree but the risk is he chooses his own club next season, which could mean Goons or Chelsea

I am more interested in next season than the one after. Kane will not sign a new contract now but will wait and see how next season pans out. If it is as bad as this season then he will go but if we take the opportunity of not being in Europe to win a domestic Cup and actually end up above MU as we did last season then why go there. MU are not winning the league any time soon and so a domestic cup is all they can achieve and so we need to match that. That will mean the likes of Kane starting in some of the matches but he will still play less games than in the CL.
