My point is that he's only now looking like he'll realise that potential. Gil has a lot of potential, but we should bin him off because he hasn't realised it at 22? When, for the first time since he arrived at Spurs, he has a manager that actually encourages wing play, and is prepared to give a talented players the minutes he needs to develop properly?

I'm not saying he'll be World Class, but I think it's asinine to write off a young, talented player, just because he hasn't done it yet. Particularly when you consider that, up until now, he's had managers that would have overlooked him completely, as he wasn't suited to the way they wanted to play.

It really wouldn't surprise me if Ange likes him. He's energetic, hard working and skillful to boot. He has all of the attributes that Ange loves in a player. Hence why I think a season under Ange is necessary to at least see if he could become what we all hope he will.

I think he'll get game time, and I think he'll be given every opportunity to either show that he's developing well, or he's not.

At the moment he's being judged on cameos.
Agree just saying plenty saw Eze as a good player before this seaso

This would actually be smart business.

Don't know much about him, but tbh, I'd be quite happy with a middling PL level CB for £20m+ for now. Our attack is STILL one of the top 3 in the league, just shoring up our defence a bit will go a LOOOONG way.

There's no new Toby or Jan on the horizon right now but we've got to buy some CBs.

Personally think he's a fair amount better than middling PL level.

Fulham played on the counter and invited a lot of pressure. he defended a lot and did it more efficiently than 70-80% of prem defenders.

He didn't play a lot of minutes last season. Was he a backup or injured?

Will say this though:

If you were to tell me that Tosin was a player highlighted by our new data metric, then I’m fucking listening because those stats as percentiles, are one step away from being very fucking good.

I actually think all the Fulham defenders are pretty good in isolation but I’m not sure they would be my pick. He’s a good player though but without being outstanding. I do wonder if Man City have a clause in there though that might trip us up with signing him.

Why should he have to deal with it? It clearly doesn’t work….. 23 years, 15+ managers, many bungled caretaker interim write offs and one wank league cup say we absolutely shouldn’t just deal with it

Debate, then action
You'll have to deal with it, because who is running the club won't change. And not you, not me, not anyone can change that. So you can either continue bitching and moaning and whining if you want, but at the end of the day you'll just have to deal with it. It's really that simple.

Maybe. They will try and milk the price like Brentford and Leicester are doing for Raya and Maddison though.

Get rid of Dier, bring Aderabiayo in.

Then sell Sanchez and Rodon and bring in a top left sided centre back. And that's our centre back options greatly improved.

If we look at Dier's dots in that chart for Defensive actions and Duel%, they are right next to the centre, i.e. he doesnt do much defending at all. Its crazy.

Basically zero injury records for him on transfermarkt.

Started and played 10 of their last 11 in the run-in.

25/38 in the prem...

Maybe just rotation but looks like they used him for the games that mattered at the end.
Wonder why he didn't start earlier in the season. In any case, I wouldn't mind him over Sanchez and Dier, especially if we get him for a good price.

Everyone always worries too much about buy back clauses, even if City activated it he would have to agree to join them and I doubt he’d fancy making their first XI anytime soon where he probably walks in to ours.

People expecting him to suddenly change his nature are clutching badly at straws.

And I’m genuinely more optimistic about Ange than I was. I do like him in interviews, as meaningless as they are. And he does bring a sort of energy kick that we had at the start of Conte’s time in charge.

But I have very little faith in this ‘he’s got a 4 year contract, we will back him through thick & thin’ stuff. He will be under the same pressure as every big 6 coach faces.
So he's probably facing a 2,5 years paid vacation in 18 months.

Too may people here are clearly too fucking thick to understand what the statistics even mean.
