I’ve said this before. To get us to the next level of brand recognition— a Liverpool level, say — wouldn’t require a single trophy but multiple wins over successive years, City style.
That’s going to take a City level of financial commitment: a billion dollars or more of owner investment. The financial benefit to ENIC might be about 100-150m a year IF they could achieve it (as they would still be competing against United, City, Liverpool, Chelsea and probably Newcastle). Of course, there would be trophies and the eternal gratitude of the Tottenham fans.
ENIC don’t have the stomach for it. They’re happy where they are and a minor trophy win would be gravy.

Smart recruitment would go a long way to helping. If our goalkeeper, centre backs and midfield signings this season hit it off, Kane has another worldie of a year and Ange gets his ideas across quick, we could have one hell of a season.

Too many ifs in there however

It's really not difficult to grasp: no Beyonce or Bieber = less money to back Ange. But yeah, let's fuck off all our commercial activity, because according to you that's the way to spend more money on football. Genius. How come no one else has thought about this?
There's not the slightest bit of evidence to suggest any money raised from third party stadium events is being used to invest in the football team. None whatsoever.
Stop pretending there is and start supporting the football team rather than a couple billionaire spivs fattening their wealth off the back of it.:coys:

Couldn’t resist was only joking

Fair enough!

I won’t report you to the Forum Policeman

I used to believe that all the non football commercial activities were being put in place so that the extra revenue would be ploughed back in to the squad.
It is.

The accounts are scrutinised by independent accountants, auditors, the inland revenue, that Swiss rambler guy, loads of fans (who'd love to prove wrong doing) and the Trust even hired it's own accountants to look at the books hoping to find that some revenue was not being put into the football side of things.

Out of all those people nobody, ever, has found anything even remotely dodgy.

Enic doing so well financially (with all the available information), we started to wonder why haven't SPURS (you know the football team that we follow) been backed like the owners said we would.
4th highest spend is world football since the new stadium opened.
Our spending has increased massively due to the extra revenue that the new stadium generates, which includes concerts.

The fact that we've bought shite is a different argument.

I can't get excited until the deadwood has gone. We could get bought out by a trillionaire, hire the best coach ever, shout from the rooftops about ambition etc etc etc

But if we kick off the season with a squad containing Dier, Davies, Sessegnon, Winks, Ndombele, GLC, Lloris and possibly PEH, I just can't get on the hype train.

People have totally convinced themselves that a coach with no history in a seriously hard league, can transform anyone and whatever players he wants are the right ones.
They're probably at best the right budget for Greedy.

I want to be wrong. I want to want to go games again rather than just using it for a bit of "me time"
Very harsh on Lloris to be on that list. He probably needs his own list because he has been a good servant to the club. Hopefully the rest are sold. Why is Reguilon not on your list.

Stop posting lies and made up stuff. Commercial revenue for Tottenham Hotspur FC includes the concerts and other events hosted by the new stadium. All this money goes into the operations of THFC, which includes wages and transfer fees. Read the financial results and also focus on the line that says "no dividends are paid," meaning none of the revenue goes back to ENIC.

And as stevee stevee mentioned no audit has uncovered any evidence that what you are claiming is true. Of course if believing your alternative facts helps you cope, that's your prerogative. But don't be surprised when you get called Pinocchio as a result.

Once again here you go again with your moral high ground and derogatory speech pointing out how crucial it is to focus on Beyonce etc. How fantastic it is to have these great concerts and how that's the only way forward. And how it's so obvious and only a fool would dare question these events and go karts no doubt as well.

I'll repeat it again,..that may have sounded fine a few years back until the penny dropped and with Enic doing so well financially (with all the available information), we started to wonder why haven't SPURS (you know the football team that we follow) been backed like the owners said we would. Why were the 'cheap' and last minute panic options repeatedly still being the template forward for our football team. Why has the football side of 'the Enic operations' been run so amateurish? Without whom Enic wouldn't have this lovely cash flow heading back into their coffers.

Listen mate not that i owe you an explanation because it's you who seems to be getting personal with insults on your posts. But business ( and smart money making) is fine if we are seeing the generated money come back to where it was supposed to via positive signs. If we are seeing results in this area not the same behaviour and shambolic football management.

Most of us here i guess aren't really interested in the business side of things if we know the football side is the priority. (not a secondary pain in the arse for the owners/custodians) If the football operations run as smoothly as they could be, like they should have been!

According to you nobody has the right to dare question the integrity of Enic & co. To DARE be concerned about our football team and the way it's been run. To keep putting your head in the sand and not question and for fans/customers to keep quiet and pay whatever is asked.

But it's about Ange being properly looked after and given every bit of chance to succeed, 100% backed thoroughly, the way he should be.
I give up. I can't argue with someone who wants the club to spend money that it doesn't generate and also posts falsehoods that the money generated flows back into ENIC's coffers (of which there is not one iota of proof whatsoever). Or someone who is completely blind to the fact that the issue of the badly run football operations is finally getting addressed.

You want to live in your own parallel reality, go ahead.

The frustrating thing is that people on this page are ignorant or lying… and take strong positions. Just accept you don’t know or hold weaker opinions.

And whose fault is that? Had Levy worked on creating a healthy, data specialized recruitment structure, which would’ve allowed us to sign cheaper and (possibly) lower risk players, he even would’ve had even more money to invest into karting and other entertaining crap.
Let's all agree that Levy has:

Got Zero football knowledge.
Failed to sign players for two transfer windows.
Consistently failed to move players on because of unreasonable asking prices.
Failed to have a system in place that identifies the right players to sign.
Three years without a Stadium sponsor.
Stadium over running it's build time by at least half a year.
Stadium being £300m over budget.

Levy has lots of things to critcise because frankly he is awful. The things that it is stupid to criticise him for is Events at the stadium.

My nickname for Pinocchio is Pinocchio.
#PinocchiosgottaPinocchio.
It’s inherent in his nature. He is a congenital liar.
The sad thing is it weakens his argument.
He and I can make a great facts-based argument to get rid of Levy without resorting to misrepresentation, distortion and flat out lies.

Stay away from arguing anything related to finance though, he clearly doesn’t know the first thing about it.

There's no denying spending has increased in the new stadium, as was the plan for the project.

We're still the only club on earth spending less than half our turnover on wages (not for long with turnover headed into the toilet of course), and the net spend is reflective of the collapse in saleable assets which flowed from the net negative spend the five years prior to those numbers.

Levy comprehensively fucked it with Summer 2018 and nothing that has happened since has come even close with reckoning with the scale of that.

Everyone is hungry to turn the page and move on. Ange is a gesture toward that. But as long as the Kane situation is an open question, we are still in the throes of the nervous breakdown that started with Levy's cold blooded murder of the Poch miracle. Pretending it isn't real doesn't make it go away.

The Beyonce/Karts bullshit is just about the stupidest fucking nonsense that has been thrown about for a long time.....

The biggest stadiums in the country have always done these kind of things.......

Main Road used to be a prime northern equivalent to Wembley for gigs (Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi etc.).
Old WHL used to have boxing.

Currently:

This very weekend WH have baseball.
