We've already signed 3 though.... You'd think people could muster up a tiny bit of composure to see how the rest of the window plays, but it's seemingly beyond some people.......

2 (3?) days after Solomon was announced and the conspiracy theories and fan fiction has crept back in and the slightest hint of another club buying anyone leads to brown pants.
I don't see why we should even count how many days it was since we last signed someone. If Solomon was signed a day later would our lack of CB signings be that much less worrying?

Fact of the matter is that we've long been aware of the urgent and vital need for two quality CBs for years, so why the bloody hell are we off to Australia without a new CB when we conceded 60+ goals last season?

People are right to be nervous because Levy and co have a track record of pulling this stunt. As I said, we're the only team in the history of the PL to go an entire season without a single transfer. If it was some other club, maybe the panicking would be unwarranted.

Like any club that’s not in financial meltdown they don’t want to demoralise the rest of the squad and fanbase by selling all their top players.

Tenuous on my part, but on the subject of FFP.....

........Who'd have ever thought that Man U would ever com within a million miles of such hassle.

No; the amount of days ought to be arbitrary; but it's quite obvious that people get way edgy in the absence of so-called news.

If you're simply pitching the importance of CBs..... I've not and won't argue otherwise and there are plenty of reasonable people in our midst that my prior post doesn't related to, however:

.......We've got people shitting their pants about Diaby which has nothing to do with CBs.

Worth looking at a few other clubs transfers in https://www.premierleague.com/transfers :

Woolwich 2 (Havertz, Timber)
A Villa 2 (Tielmans, Torres)
Liverpool 2 (Mac Allistair, Szaboszlai)
ManCity 1 (Kovacic)
ManU 1 (Mount)
Newcastle 2 (Tonali, Minteh)

Think that covers most of clubs who finished above or around us (except Chelsea who seem to want to buy and sell another team).

So Spurs with 3 signings are doing as well as anyone in buying in the window so far !

Yeah, that's fair enough, a couple of people who have never heard of Diaby until a few days ago are losing their mind that Villa, not us, are siging him. Which is pretty ridiculous.

On the other hand, I do accept the notion that Leverkusen may be satisfied by whatever money they get for him and that will make our pursuit of Tapsoba more difficult.

That's not important to me, I'm just annoyed that we're once again seemingly indecisive about a CB signing. The new CB(s) should be on that plane so they have the best chance to gel with the team and pick up Ange's style. There's so much to do to get this club working properly again, we have no time to waste.

Though tbh, after all these years, Levy's antics don't get to me any more.

This fucking thread is a zoo

Scott hasn't even started work yet. His previous employer Man City won't let him
Shot show surely Munn must have given his notice and then agreed start date with new employer. I can’t believe the total incompetence of these people supposedly “running” our football club. Munn was never gonna find next DOF. I reckon we only got Ange bcos Munn knew him and couldn’t really evaluate any other candidates. The transfer window / “policy” is a shit show. We buy porro with obligation to buy for a manager who never wanted to stay. £40M and he can’t play rb. Kulu shit season and £35M now when we could prbly find better packer RW than him. No CBs sogned and we still have all the donkeys dier Dav davies etc. at the moment it’s not looking good especially if Kane leaves. Do you trust anyone at the club to make right decisions? Fucking we will offsude rich as our cf who will be either offside or falling down cheating g looking for a foul.

No we’re not, just buying players means Jack shit, it’s important to buy the right players in the right position - and there is also something to be said for timeliness.

Man City could buy no one and still walk the title next season, they have no obvious weakness. Liverpool have rebuilt their midfield which was an obvious weakness for them - they seem to be taking a chance that VVD finds his form again - given how good he is and what he has won, that’s fair enough.

Woolwich I think have got it wrong. Villa have bought quality and will cause issues for us next season. United have been terrible in the market for a while. Newcastle meh.

But I couldn’t care what those sides have done - we need new CB’s and we don’t have one which is bollox

We definitely needed a new GK. We got one

We definitely needed creativity, we bought one of most creative players around.

Sure we also need other players including 2 new CB's.

But other clubs are NOT ahead of us in buying is the point I am making despite what many people seem to be told by other posters

And pretty much every club site there are fans whinging abut their squad - including ManCity despite spending £1 bn + over a few years.

Well, I see Raum has been sin binned again and somehow I think it's you and your pals who are behind it...or not.

I sure didn't see him post anything as bad as say that Think Tank lad, who's just been using foul language for like 100 posts in a row.

You're on opposite sides, we sll bloody know it. Let's Lea it at that. But foul voting a dude because he's Pro/Anti ENIC is pretty shameful tbh

That’s not one of your best. You’re better than that mon gars.

Do you not remember the 2019 season? The hysteria on social media as the transfer deadline was approaching was something else. We also didn't buy anyone in jan.

It was the one and only time in the history of the PL that no player was transfered in by a club. I can't remember exactly, but we may have been the only club in the entirity of professional English football to not buy a player that season.
