Lets start again.

Spurs need to fill a number of positions - yes or no ?

We needed a GK - yes or no

We needed a creative midfielder - Yes or no ?

We also need to fill other positions including 2 CB's - yes or no

Spurs have bought players who for various reasons can be bought quickly - that's the reason they are hear.

We will address the CB purchases shortly. Meanwhile other clubs such as Woolwich and ManU have NOT progressed further than us in buying positions THEY think they need to fill.

So stop hyperventilating over something which is NOT a problem at the moment. The player registration window has been open for 14 days ....... and is open for another month.
Yes on keeper
Yes on Creative player
Yes on CB’s

My point is we have 6 friendlies to get up to speed - any new CB is going to miss 3 of those as a minimum.

The CB was more important than Vicario and Solomon and on a par with Maddison. A keeper is important, but saving shots in Italy is the same as saving shots in England, it’s an individual position that takes less gelling than a CB partnership and I doubt even you would argue that our 5th choice attacker signing is more important than a CB signing.

So we have not prioritised well, we will miss out on vital bonding time, it could cost us in early games.

I’m not wetting my knickers, I am frustrated that we’re making the same mistake again.

I’m not screaming and ranting about Levy or some mad conspiracy - I’m just faaaacked off that Spurs once again have failed to prepare properly before a transfer window opens because I know what the knock on effect is

Apparently I’m not :ange-lol:

Have had more than a few cunt offs with Raum but usually there are the same crew that he’s going at it with.

Maybe I’m saying those posters are more likely to bin vote and they all have a slight lean towards defending the club when it comes to transfers

Again... Re-read my post...... What you describe isn't enough to get someone sent off..... You need to have worn thin with the broader populace too.

The only two reasons I can see for a hold up are:

1. Selling club want too much
2. Player is unsure

This is why you have a list of targets and don’t put all your eggs in one basket. If it’s one then like we did with Raya you move on to the next target. If it’s 2 then you give the player a reasonable amount of time to think - a week tops, if he is still unsure then he is clearly not the right sort - might always feel like he is doing you a favour.

My frustration is never about the money spent, we spend loads. My frustration is this basic lack of planning and process that leads us into the same doom loop year after year - zero credibility seems to be given to integrating and gelling a squad early. Obviously Levy has to take some of the blame as he is in charge, but what are the rest of the useless toasters he employs doing all year?

Your post suggests you have only partial knowledge of the process of negotiating transfers.

Other reasons they don't go through include (ie these are only 2 other examples) :
1 Player agent wants a much bigger fee - Haaland agent allegedly trousered £50m on his transfer to City - distributed amongst a few people

2 Player partner/wife/family do not want to move to some cities. Old example being Matt Le Tiss wife refused to move to London after Le Tiss had signed a contract with Spurs. Spurs sportingly tore the contract up.

That's some reasons why transfers take time

and that is why other blubs are also not doing more transfers than Spurs so far

So chill

Fucking toasters

We're all disappointed we haven't got a centre back by the time we've flown out. It is what it is.

We can just hope we press on over the next few weeks and at least get one in by the time we're back ready to be involved against both Shakhtar and Barcelona.

I think luckily for us, centre back is probably the easiest position for a new player to come in and hit the ground running in this system. As opposed say a full back who needs to adapt to playing different to what they're likely used to.
I’d argue Keeper and 5th choice attacker is easier to integrate than a new starting CB

So you move onto plan B, C, E all the way down to Z if needs be - Brighton always seem to and they come out stronger for it.

Brighton are buying lower price players who need developing. Totally different market - many Spurs fans would do their nuts 'Ley cheapskate' being the minimum if we did the same.

Buying better known more expensive players versus other bigger clubs means more competition and slower to do.

So plan Z..... You'd be happy with #26th on the list? ......If it was explicitly known to be so? ......so long as they were signed in a timely fashion? ....That it was a matter of timing over quality?

Bollocks you would.

By that metric you ought to have been pleased with Lenglet last summer.

Killman & Macguire could have been on the plane today and you'd be any happier than you are now?

Rubbish.

Bollocks to Brighton talk too..... People whinged about Solomon & Vicario cos they were cheap or not famous.

Those reasons are the exact same as I have just slightly different 1 too much money, 2. Player unsure

It will always only ever come back to those 2 reasons unless we’re trying to buy Woolwich's star player in which case rivalry come into it as well.

But thanks for validating my points.

I am chilled, I just don’t understand how some are so forgiving of the club making the same mistake over and over again - I would be fired from my job if I kept getting the same thing wrong over and over.

What do you mean "could be".... It's a fact... Can't remember the numbers required now but Admin confirmed this some time ago.

Just think it’s a bit pathetic to be binning people unless they get up to real wrong shit. Not just calling sb a cunt

People get pissed off with trolls that don't otherwise bring anything to the table though...... and/or those that persistently post the same 1-dimensional crap over and over and over.

re highlighted ponis - These are totally different points.

I rest my case, you have not been involved with complex transactions before and that is why you are frustrated - you are expecting things which usually cannot be done in the timescales you would like.

I’m chilled.

Also not as confident as you that they will get top class CBs in.

Previous windows suggest not

I don't know what your idea is of a top class CB, we need to get the right CB.

Basing our behaviour of previous windows is pointless, there's 0 consistent pattern with our recruitment because we've chopped and changed management/strategies, just gotta trust the club on this one and what we've seen so far in this window.

Cucurella and Mitoma hit the ground running, the return they will get on those 2 is unreal.

The price tag is irrelevant of the player is good enough, I don’t go in for Levy is a cheap skate, that’s a misdiagnosis, Levy is either badly advised or a fucking footballing moron - I genuinely don’t know which, possibly both. World class businessman yes, but what he knows about football I had forgotten by the time I was 10 - admittedly I can only base that perception on his actions as I do not know the inner workings of his mind.

But we bought cheaper players this summer, it doesn’t get cheaper than Solomon, and most fans aren’t moaning about that, we’re moaning because we haven’t addressed the greatest area of need.

CBF to debate this.

I don’t trust the club to do anything in the transfer market
