Yeah, but a football team is also based on people and confidence and ours will be fragile at best, especially if Kane goes now.
Enter the gaffer, whose job it is to instill that confidence, and who by all accounts is excellent at that.

Let's see how our remaining friendlies go. If the team on the pitch without Kane puts in similar performances (and is hopefully a little more clinical) as that second half against Spam, I don't think confidence will be an issue.

Feels like we are Probably just going to evaluate the squad right now and only make more first team signings once we know who is definitely not onboard and who isn't good enough when we get back to London. Only then will we push to make more signings .
Seems ridiculous regardding CB. Other positions OK, but CB doesn't need evaluation. Just get new CBs, it's as simple as that.

Hotspur88 this morning over on truth central, aka SC:

"We are still interested in bringing both in. In an ideal world, that's been the plan from the beginning"!

"Whether we can make it happen is a completely different matter. But we are certainly trying to do both deals. We should know this week whether that's actually possible"

So we could, might, maybe, should, possibly, sign both, one, or neither.

That's the sort of incisive ITK that has made this idiot the laughing stock of on SC
I’m sure Hotspur88 is really a hologram ala Rimmer on Red Dwarf! 😁

We signed Ashley Phillips for £3m, a highly rated CB prospect from Blackburn.

HK won't renew, but we knew that.
Thanks but ain't good enough.

Ashley Philips sounds for the future and will be loaned?

HK may leave then in the next few weeks, mixed feelings about him, can't blame him at all, I have been lucky to see him playing in old WHL, Wembley and new stadium.

Sanchez is on the way out.

Dier is somehow sticking around. No news on Tanganga going anywhere…

The need for 2 new CBs is so fucking obvious and a serious club is signing 2 that challenge for the starting 11.

Thise three will drive us into midtable, which is somewhere Ange would not want to be at.

Those three players are not our future and shouldn't be anywhere near the club come season start.

To put it mildly its sub optimal that 8 weeks after last season finished, when we had our worst defensive record for 20 or so years and all but 1 of our centre backs were clearly done that 3 weeks from the start of the new season we havent got 1 new one in.

They really dont do themselves any favours in trying to win people around again.
