First of all when did I say villa were ahead of us.
Second as for lavishing praise, when we do something special then we will, so the clock is ticking watch this space.
The origin of this conversation - that you got involved in - was that Villa were now ahead of us. ;) No problem if you don't think that, but that's what was being discussed. Even if you don't think that, you're still praising Villa for transfer business that they haven't even completed yet, and which may or may not make them better. This behaviour is not alien to us - we arguably did similar when we bought N'Dombele and Lo Celso - but such bold moves don't always work out... ;)

It's difficult to say at this stage. But I think keeping Harry Kane will make a difference of at leat 3 or 4 places.

A premature estimate would be with Kane around 6th. Without Kane 9th or 10th

When other 'Big 6' clubs have missed out on European football altogether, they've tended to use the situation to their advantage and pushed the boat out to come back stronger.

Despite our huge wealth and unrivalled FFP wriggle room, I just don’t see us doing the same, unfortunately
Oh I agree no chance

I'm not sure that's the case at all. If Ange's system works, it'll get us goals, what we'll need to be worried about is our defence.

Welcome back mate, never should have gone away

Yeah I get that. But scoring goals still wins games.
And however strong or weak the defence, I think we score a lot more goals with Harry than without. Regardless of the system.
I don't think there's many teams on the planet who'd turn down that kind of player because of the system.
A good manager adapts his system to work it to his advantage

The thing about centre backs: even if the guy(s) we get in only improve on backups like Sanchez, Tanganga, we'd be stronger overall.
It's going to be hard not to improve on what we've got.

Hey, Deuterz Deuterz

On behalf of a small part of the community because I recognise I am not the community mouthpiece and don’t get to speak for anyone but me, I'd like to say welcome back on board mate.

Hopefully you've been following the discussions and keeping tabs on our transfer activity during your time off

Fixed your post. No need to thank me.
