Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are now actively trying to sign Rayan Cherki.

According to Football Transfers, both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Rayan Cherki from Lyon in the summer transfer window.

Don’t trust that source but should be the kind of player we’re targeting

Also wanted the likes of Grealish and Fernandes when he was here, but we failed to do the business.
Didn’t he prefer LoCelso to Fernandes given the choice?

That’s the problem with how people write history - no one really knows, people pretend gossip is “just a bit of fun”, and then they base their opinions on supposition and gossip.

Not going for you on this - you’re commenting in good faith. More a general issue with peoples takes on the club.

That source looks like shit, but I'd love it, he's a really talented player.

If everyone agrees to become a "Supporter" on here then I reckon admin would be up for it :levywhoa:

Not a clue, but probably shows his eye for talent wasn’t all bad. Think he had a positive influence on a few of our better signings too.

GLC/Tanguy were & are talented footballers who lots of scouts probably rated & their issues have been more mental or injury related than anything to do with talent.

The other factor being that they played their matches under Mourninho, and Conte didn't find them suitable so they were in a Spurs team which mainly focused on playing defensively rather than possession/attack, thus, even when they were fit it was like round pegs in square holes.

Yes I agree. He had a capacity to improve players and had us looking like better than the sum of our parts.

Did Mourinho or Conte ever improve a player over the course of a season?

You could argue Kane and Son for Mourinho? Hard to tell though because those players have been immense over multiple coaches.

I guess Conte improved Emerson over the course of a season .. Jose Hojbjerg perhaps? Bentancur also looked a lot better for us than Juventus.

But yeah, I don’t think either coach was suited to us as a club. Conte clearly didn’t really fancy being here all that much from the start. Jose is just washed.

I remember arguing with fixx & co and telling them plainly Conte absolutely wasn’t going to commit to longer at the club. He went here for the £££.

Ange is here because it’s a huge step up for him and he’s committed. That may mean everything in terms of getting the most out of a bad situation.

One football thing we’ve mostly agreed on is the manager situation.

I think I’m more optimistic than you about Ange right now but I can understand your more reserved stance.

I like Ange. Was very skeptical at first but he’s growing on me. Think he’s got the right vibes for where we’re at and at least we’ll have some fun.

But he’s taking over a shit situation so I will manage expectations & if we exceed that then all the better. I think anything else is setting him up for unrealistic goals and that’s when people start blaming him for not reaching the unachievable.
