Mbappe wants to join Madrid in 2024
PSG don't want to lose him for nothing.
Could we see a potential Kane-Mbappe swap deal? I think Mbappe would be open to it, providing the his contract with Tottenham was for only 12 months.
This way, Mbappe avoids being frozen out and can join Madrid in 2024 as a free agent, PSG get Kane for Mbappe and Tottenham get Mbappe for 12 months.
Offensive football with the right pieces in play can be excellent defensively. Offensive football with defenders who are shit on the turn and easily caught out can lead to massive scorelines where you get killed by teams either better at said offensive football or ones who know how to kick long and are good at it.
If we bring in the right defenders, we probably will do better defensively. But the post I was responding to was in a scenario where we basically sign nobody. In which case we will get killed defensively, because we have either flat footed defenders or ones who who rushes out, leave gaps, and tries to decapitate the opposition.
I hope we fucking do. We are going to lose him this summer or next. I'd rather have 100m this summer than fuck all next summer. This summer is going to be a transitional one anyway. Write this season off (anything achieved a bonus) invest in a couple of high potential young forwards (Barcola, Kvaratskhelia, Adeyemi, Reyna, Tel, Cherki), 2 CB's and a right busy cunting 6 (Caicedo/Kone), just add a couple of real quality players next summer and start to rebuild for next season.
I think the main difference will be that we will have more of the ball and should be winning it higher up the pitch. In theory, it should reduce the amount of pressure on the defence and expose them less to the individual mistakes we saw when we invited pressure on.
Ultimately though, the current players we have aren't really suited to high line play, as they don't have the required recovery pace.
Which is why at least 2 pacey CB's are a necessity rather than a 'nice to have.'
if he pulls it off im joining shadydan's side

Can’t understand why more people can’t see that last season we had a manager who didn’t want to be here having players play a style of football they didn’t want to play or that fit their strengths.
Looking back it actually seemed like Conte was trying to get fired with some of his decline.
Had to be one of the most dysfunctional locker rooms we’ve had since Kaboul/ Ade vs Poch.
Players definitely aren’t blameless. They gave up and thats shameful.
This team has way more talent on it then our fans give it credit for. Yes we need a new starting LCB no doubt. But the squad playing cohesive football will be just as impactful as a new CB.
When one player is in poor form it's the player's fault, when the entire team bar 1 world class player are out of form, it's the manager's fault.Conte's a prick but the blame on him is too much. We were awful before Conte arrived and worse when he left the club. Losing Bentancur, Son being shocking (on him, not Conte .. he missed sitters all season), Bissouma getting injured, Romero being a bull in a china shop, Lloris forgetting he had hands & a statue being his back-up ... there were loads of personnel related reasons we were crap last season. There's no waving a magic wand over this. Points wise Conte had us within touching distance of top 4, the football was just dismal.
The 'player x was only poor due to Conte' theories are something I expect to be exposed mighty quickly next season,
Caicedo would be a dream but huge price-tag on him. I've seen a very limited amount from Cherki but seems to have a bit of magic that our forwards lack.

I don't disagree. There's a lot to be said for possession and I don't doubt Spurs will end most games with a shot and time of possession advantage, but the quality of scoring opportunity is important as well as the volume of shots. How well Spurs do against the counter attack is going to go a long way in determining wins and losses. Postecoglou will have to have defenders who can recover quickly and a goalie who can erase mistakes. My guess is Spurs will do a better job of beating the teams they should beat than they did under Conte and not as good a job against the top of the table. The big clubs, at least at first, will probably absorb Spurs pressure and punish mistakes. But, the up side is, Spurs volume of shots will probably swamp some of the lesser squads.I broadly agree but I think people have unrealistic expectations about Ange. There seems to be a general assumption that we can’t really drop into the lower half of the table and even if we’re shit, we’ll still end up in 8th or so.
I do not share that conviction at all, especially if Harry leaves. Our defensive record was fucking disgusting, which is why some of us are getting irritated with the standard twiddling of thumbs.
PL is insanely competitive. If we’re shipping 2 goals a game, we’re fucked.
Hojbjerg was good before the WC, so was Perisic, post-WC nearly every player was out of form, Son, Kulu, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Perisic, Lloris, all of our CBs including Romero. You're right Emerson and Bentancur were still good.A couple of others like Emerson or Bentancur played pretty well given their respective ability levels. Hojbjerg was also pretty good for most of the season given his level.
A lot of the players who played badly are overrated on here. The only one who was really disappointing given talent level to me was Son, and I'm hoping it was a one off poor season rather than a real decline.

Gallagher is a weird player who only looks good in the box. I'd much rather get Veiga.Gallagher just scored vs Brighton... Colwill just gave away a silly pen.
Sign them both!
The defending looked terrible as well, and Brighton are down to 10 men.Gallagher is a weird player who only looks good in the box. I'd much rather get Veiga.
I see we better demand £350m for Kane then!I hope we fucking do. We are going to lose him this summer or next. I'd rather have 100m this summer than fuck all next summer. It was the stats for the last ten games that were a concern. Especially away from home.
I’m not a doom monger at all, I just think it’s unfair to assume that Ange is going to miraculously turn things around by telling the players to play 30 yards further up the pitch.
We need CBs.
