Win or lose, if he cares enough, they'll love & respect him. Not the dickwads who started supporting PSG in 2012, but the real OGs will
Is it the OGs or the post-2012 dickwads who have threatened to cut off Vlahovic’s fingers?

I didn’t realize that a Paris football club had any real stake in centuries old hostility in the Balkans but I’m no expert. Yeah, I realize it’s just a few but what a fucking shitshow…..

Totally disagreed -

1) It is very possible that there are other players we can use temporarily to bridge the gap - like pushing Kulusevski to MF.
2) Did you even check prior to posting if Mali and Senegal have qualified to the final tournament ?? (bet you did not, but I did and they actually have)
3) You obviously were ignorant enough never to check the dates. In EPL the winter break is 13.01-30.01.2024. AFCON happens in... 13.01-11.02.2024. So unless Mali and Sengal will meet in the final, the impact will be absolutely minimal.

We just play EPL + domestic cups in coming season. And it would be freaking madness to build the squad considering one two-week period in mind. It is as logical as to build all the airports to fit the traffic before Christmas. 90% of the time, everything would be madly overdimentioned just to be in right size for 3 to 5 days a year.

There could potentially be a couple of cup games before the prem restarts on 30th Jan depending on whether we get through the prior rounds of the league cup and fa cup

Yeah, I saw that after my original post. They'd still need to leave at least a week before AFCON and I think they get a week off after their team is out, so maybe 2-3 games missed, but nothing that would necessitate yet another CM, which was my point anyway.

Isn't the EPL winter break 1 week off? I thought there were 5 matches the first week and 5 the second with each team getting a week off. It's better than not have the week off, but still going to potentially be an issue.

I do love how often the phrase "club is focused on X" as if the dozens of people that will be actively involved in player recruitment all day every day are only capable of communicating on 1 transfer at a time.

I would love to see one of their Outlook calendars though. I bet there are meetings about meeting to discuss scheduling meetings over this shit.

Does anyone think maguire has been treated badly by ten hag and might have a point to prove at his new club?
Maguire may look like a dope and have a clanger a game in him , but to see a dickhead like Fernandez becoming captain is a kick in the hole. I don’t recall maguire ever asking to be subbed off because he couldn’t handle feta beating.

Sounds kinky.........?

But yes; the recent Johhny Evans thing was a complete slap in the face.

Maguire right now is better than Van de Ven is and it’s not even debatable.

Obviously we buy for potential, uniqueness of profile, etc. and he’s 7 years older than VdV. but if you wanted to win a match in August I’d pick Maguire over VdV. Over Dier, too. He’s not as bad as people think and would be our best aerial defender and long passer by a mile.

Problem is that he can't be relied on in a high line, and with our new style of playing out the back.

They make up for it in other ways. The only great attribute Lenglet has is his left peg. And that's a secondary attribute for a defender. I've seen him caught out positionally a few times last season. There's one goal in particular I'm thinking of but can't remember who it was against.

Lenglet would come with a reasonably big wage and is non-HG. He's a poor 4th choice for that reason.
No way would you trust lengket in a back 4 with high line. Makes no sense getting him. I’d rather dorrington be promoted. Why do have to buy players who are no better than what we already have?
