Not going to argue each one in isolation.

In isolation missing out on each one as a top target seems plausible and understandable

If it happens this many times, over this many windows, that’s inexcusable

I’d give it a week tops before his agent comes out and says he never wanted to move this summer. Maybe his wife just gave birth or something…

Either way, we tried but we never had a chance.

If each holds valid arguments for or against you can then form a pattern that’ll derive a fair indictment

We aren’t gonna beat city to any player and bastoni didn’t want to come

Tapsoba. He’s our top choice. No one else is in for him This is the litmus test to see if Danny is a bottle job

He's not and, IMO, Jaynola is only partly correct.

A manager who has done his homework will have an 'idea' of the current squad that he believes he can work with. However, until he's had them working with him, seen their application on the training pitch, sussed out their mentality, desire etc from interacting with them, he's not going to make his mind up fully.

This is evident from the fact that he's willing to give Lo Celso and Ndombele a chance again. If he'd already made up his mind on players before he was in the role, he sure as shit wouldn't be looking to work with them now, based on prior performances.

This isn't a defence of the club, in relation to the CB hunt (I'm not even sure why that remark was necessary), it's just common sense.

Bastoni would have come if we’d paid the 70m.

It was on the cards right until we wouldn’t pay.

Same pattern playing out with Tapsoba. Within a week there will be a realistic and plausible reason why we could never have got him.

There always is.

No because what he does at Wolfsburg bares no relevance to what he would do here in a new team, new league, under a new coach in a new system.

We should be looking at players within a certain profile with certain characteristics that would provide what we need and be has plenty of them.

I doubt it.

Itll just be we haven't offered what they want. All reports say Tapsoba is interested. That's on us if we don't get it done, though also depends on what Leverkusen want. Either way, it's disappointing.

Bastoni had zero interest in leaving Inter Milan. People still using him as a way of us not showing ambition is still laughable to this day.

There were reports he was keen to work with Conte again.

He was interested until we wouldn’t pay.

People hang onto the excuse that his agent made to get the Inter fans back on his side.
