Yeah look I'm not even gonna stop the melters, feel free to vent, we should have at least 1 CB in by now

Whatever the scenario nothing would've changed!

Signed a GK and CAM early - complain

Sign a GK & CB - How could we go into the season with Lo Celso as our best attacking mid! There's going to be no offense for Ange which is crucial to his system

Sign a CB & CAM - How could we still not have a GK!!?

Sign a CB, GK, and CAM - We still need another CB. What is someone gets hurt!

You can already sense Ange's frustration from yesterday's interview

I really feel sorry him, another good manager being sabotaged by the chairman for simply trying to change the fortune of this football club.

Why is the bald cunt is scared of on-the-pitch success?

Ok.

Fair enough.

I think he’d have come if we had stumped up the cash. I don’t know it would have happened. I’m nobody.

People seem to state with full confidence that it’s a fact that it was never on bc he wanted to stay. They are also nobody’s but they know
Yeah think the only thing in our group of nobodies favour is the confirmed statement from the player himself

Whereas your group of nobodies are hoping to steal DL rubbish and piece together the shredded document that says he refuses to pay 70

Skrinikar. I’ll give ya I personally think he bottled. But trying to shoehorn badtoni in is getting Simone biles levels of mental gymnastics

Well, we are in this fucking mess because the that cheap, bald cunt.

We wouldn't need at least 2 top CBs this summer if we signed at least one last summer or spent 45m Skrinier instead of 10m on Rodon 2 years ago.

We should've bought Bruno instead of GLC

Should've sold Dele to United when he was worth 100 mill

Should've started Lucas over Kane in the Champ League final

Never should've wasted money on NDombele

Should've forced Eze to join when he chose CP over us

Fuck me mate come on

Because when there’s 65m people are always gonna talk.

Inter we’ve got 65 m. For bastoni. Sure we’ll sit down and talk

Talks doesn’t mean a desired outcome come

You also had his ex manager in these talks

What you can’t let go about the player didn’t want to move is peculiar

Strike it from your agenda

He said ‘ I don’t want to leave Inter’
where does this 65m bid come from?

were you privy to that figure?

I'd love to see the documentation.

This is why I said no point getting into each one.

If it was just Bastoni, we can all accept that it was difficult and we just couldn't get it over line. Even if Newcastle paid the 70m and got Tonali but whatever...

But it's been difficult over and over again. Now it's a pattern of failure.

The game has changed now. Being dominant in the air for a centre back isn’t a massive thing now as teams want to pass you to death or run in behind you. Gone are the days when most teams launched it it to a big centre forward to flick on for a smaller pacier one!!That’s why VDV is a great option for us because of his pace. His recovery is incredible and he’s very good in the ball.
Ever heard of corners and free kicks

Source: Bastoni saying it was his choice to stay at Inter.

You: uhhh what if he's lying?

This is what you'd call "cope".

Ok so next step when you can't win the argument with logic is twist the other person's words to make them seem less credible.

Show me where I said "what if he's lying".....

The quote you referenced says the player said there were talks.

my question was very simple:

Why would there be talks if the player was never interested and the transfer was never possible?

Or could it be that those talks failed to satisfy the club and player to make the move possible?

If we both concede the transfer was possible but we failed, then we are agreed and this debate can end.

didnt he only recently turn 22? Think you're going a bit overboard searching for clips to show us how shit you think he is.
Going overboard is spending 30-40m pounds sterling on him and acting like he is the chosen one to save our defense. What I'm doing is simply showing real-life situations where he has defended like an absolute mug, and looking for an explanation as to why he is defending like this. These are not just isolated incidents either, that's why I'm posting so many clips, these are NOT one-off mistakes.

I'm attempting to temper expectations and give a realistic view of him as a player. Most have never seen anything of him, I'm trying to show the real Van de Ven. If you have a problem with that so be it.

As a club we deserve better than a good idea in theory. We deserve real defensive ability.

If you didn't think he was lying, you'd admit that it was his choice to stay, and that you were wrong, but you're not willing to do that are you?

Inter had financial difficulties, perhaps they tried to push him out the door. Perhaps his agent tried to convince him to come. I have no idea, the only thing I know is that he preferred to stay at Inter, which isn't much of a surprise, the man has an Inter tattoo.

What the fuck is he doing here then.

You cannot possibly blame that on the 'system'. He looks like an absolute clown in this. This is a trend of his. He stands off the ball and lets dribblers into space, that is his style, his MO.

That's poor defending.

But I never said he was flawless. I've seen errors from some of the most experienced defenders.

If we're not capable of coaching footballers and improving them then what's even the point?

We might aswell get rid of Porro and Udogie whilst we're at it. Because there you have a right back who cannot mark or read an offensive players runs and a left back who allows the space of the titanic between himself and the offensive player and most of the time cannot be arsed to get back.

Seriously. How can you watch something like this and think 'oh, no big deal, he has a good profile on paper'. Spending 30m on this and expecting THIS to transform our defense.

Because I'm not a glass half empty football fan, like so many of this fanbase seem to be.

I see the positives in a young centre back, who's comfortable on the ball and suited to high line football who just happens to be left footed.

I'd prefer Tapsoba. Always said I would. But he's also not perfect.

You want him to tell Inter ultras that he’s disappointed he couldn’t get his move to triple his salary ?

Ask yourself this, why would there be talks if he was never interested?

Or could it be that the talks didn’t satisfy what was needed for the move to happen?
Come on man.. it could be possible he’s very happy playing CL football for his boyhood club.

The problem will be when fans hang their hopes on VDV being the club's attempt at rectifying the mess we have at CB and he has unrealistic expectations placed on him.

By age, experience, data, and eye test, Tapsoba is much more ready to carry that pressure. VDV could come in, make a couple of horrible mistakes and fans will feel let down and instantly dump him into the pile with Tanguy, Gio, Richy, Porro, Kulu or whoever else they feel let down by.

But in truth it would be on the club for solving a long-neglected issue in the squad with a fresh kid that has some talent. If we were a big club we'd be getting our top target AND VDV then developing him as the project he is.
