It's amazing that although our league position was pretty poor under Sugar, we won the same amount of trophies under his Ownership as Enic have in over twice the number of years!
Despite what some think of ENIC and Levy, by all the laws of large numbers we should have won 2 or 3 trophies in the last however many years.

It's just freakish and not necessarily a sign of poor ownership that we haven't..

I agree that not winning some of the trophies aren’t directly related to poor ownership, but it’s hard to argue that on the pure footballing side of things the ownership haven’t really helped the situation either.

Whether through underinvestment, poor scouting, or poor managerial approaches ENIC have let us down more than once.
You then add on stuff like furloughing staff during COVID when we’re one of the wealthiest clubs,Lewis getting done for insider trading, or even trying to sell Sanchez to Russian clubs and it quickly becomes a very bleak outlook for Spurs fans.

ENIC have done an amazing job of growing the club in a very sustainable and organic manner, but I truly think their time as caretakers of the club should be coming to an end. The footballing landscape has changed since their takeover and they don’t have the appetite for it anymore.

Really can't be arsed with this season already. No buzz at all for me won't be spending loads of money loosing my weekend being disappointed. Loosing kane is loosing 20 plus goals also his creativity.

Pretty damning.

We did however have two established players in Jan and Toby so it wasn’t a priority until they left/slowed down. Even then, we decided to spend 40m on Sanchez and also bought Foyth (not sure why he's not on the list) who were both signed when Toby and Jan were at their peak. And they were meant to be the future.

Also shows who has historically had shitty CB’s with Woolwich leading the pack.

This list should probably be from 19/20 onwards. When we really should have moved forward with new centre backs when it was clear Vertonghen was on his last legs, Alderweireld had slowed right down, Sanchez hadn't lived up to his debut season hype and Foyth was becoming more of a right back.

And then it'd show to be even worse.

Definitely freakish, but not 'just' freakish. The important part - the football - has been a farce under Levy this past few years.

Toby wanted out in 18 and we held on for a bigger fee. We then let him go for nothing two years later. Very much part of the dynamic in 2018 where we didn't sell and didn't buy. Probably got us a CL final but never broken 75 points since.

I remember us actually being praised at the beginning of the 16/17 season for signing a centre back.

We had just had the best defensive record in the league, yet still strengthened in that position with 40m and we were praised for strengthening on top of already being strong. It's what "champions" would aim to do was the frequent line.

Just get a fucking centre back in.

He had a relatively cheap clause in his contract that no one wanted to trigger.

That should have told us enough.
