Problem is I think Ndombele, Lo Celso, Reguilon and co were pimped out last summer and maybe summer before without much interest, hence the loans last season.

Terminating contracts is not a terribly attractive option either - if Ndombele is on 200k pw (£10m pa) with 2 years left on his contract, terminating could cost up to £20m.
And From a ffp perspective that would also mean the remaining 20m(?) book value being realised now rather than the remainder of his contract.

It doesn't work like that Macch, you don't sign a guy a few days before the season starts and just throw him straight in at CB. And if you do its a huge gamble. Players need to get acclimaticized to the system, and to their team mates. You might get away with it more with an attacking player, but a CB?

We needed CB's a month ago, it was the key weakness in our squad. I don't believe anyone would dispute that.

That's why people are pissed

Can you explain to me why attacking players would be different to CBs? Surely what matters is if they have played a similar system before and how adept they are at integrating into a new team.

High in stock implies a connection to a realistic valuation of said stock.

40m is realistic for 45 year old Fabinho??

Not one Saudi offer for Tanguy? Gio? Hojberg?

Come on now

Fabinho not long ago was still considered one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe who has won everything.

It's no comparison to high money flops Ndombele and Lo Celso who can barely get in their current team.
