Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If the Kane news is true, accepting a late bid

Late bid? Is it the final week of the transfer window?
Sure, not in terms of the window but are you attempting to suggest that losing your best player 3 days before the start of season would NOT be considered a "late bid" by 99% of fans for other teams?

This should really read as 'wasn't for sale' when taking into account any awareness of how the transfer market works. Were we really going to just publicly state that Kane was for sale? Would that have helped us negotiate a better/faster price? Do me a favour. Appealing to the fee fees of our fans speculating on social media was hardly going to be the priority.
Neither did we say he was for sale either. And the same machinations and leaks happened during the City summer and there was NO negotiation. The only public this was Pep saying there was no negotiation but other than that it was the same rumours that your are dismissing now.

This is fun.

Was he not for sale or did we have an indicated price? I'm trying to keep track here.

Again - club caught in not selling player for their highball response scandal
Again, now the whispers are invalid, huh? I bet I could search your post history and find multiple posts informed by these whispers...but now you're getting all epistemological here...everyone's seen the reports of 100M...

Is this particularly egregious? Did we leak it to the press that we'd agreed a fee or (far more likely) did Bayern?
who fucking cares who did it...but in evaluating the situation only a moron would think Bayern would have anything to gain from leaking it as it clearly puts MORE public pressure on Kane, right?

So waht was your point?

Hysterical shite. Fainting couch for Martin, ASAP.
Is there a point in there? Probably not because it's eminently reasonable to conclude what he did with the factual points he made. Factual points, I might add, that you have barely scratched with your rebuttal.

If Kane decides to stay at Spurs and not go to Bayern but then also refuses to sign a contract, even for one year, that's really bad optics for Levy and the owners imo.

They can't force him to leave though.
What would be really lovely would be for the owners to use the unparalleled £400million+ FFP leeway they've built up through years of austerity and convince Harry Kane his future lies with Spurs

If he doesn't want to go to Bayern, and refuses to sign an extension for Spurs and then plans on leaving for a free next summer, then I really want the club to play hard ball with him now.

He tells everyone how much he loves the club but if he is willing to fuck Spurs over to the tune of £100m next summer then I wouldn't play him at all this year and stick him in the reserves. If he's gonna leave anyway, let's just swallow the medicine and brake with him now.

The club have given him the way out to go to a huge, trophy laden, high profile Champions League team, so now he can save face which is what he wanted. It's a win win for both Harry and Levy, so surely he has to take it if he cares about Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

I love Harry Kane but not at the expense of THFC. I want what's best for us.

I don’t think he’s going.

If he’s having this much hesitation deciding, then it probably isn’t happening.

Especially when he can sign a pre agreement with any club in January.

I don't get why Levy would agree or even have talks with Bayern without checking with Kane that he wants the move, unless Harry has had a last minute change of mind.

Early in the window I would agree but selling him 3 days before the season starts sends a terrible message to the players, manager and supporters.

It's up to Levy to get him to sign an extension now to save face.

Kyle Walker changed his mind after promising to join, & the Bavarians are furious.

Human beings are complex. Circumstances change.

It may be Kane's family are more important to him than his career.

I think that’s it as I read somewhere that Harry’s wife had visited the area and wasn’t keen and with another baby on the way it’s a difficult decision to have to make

RE: The hesitancy

Could it well be that these talks have taken way too long and a lot has happened between the time he originally negotiated with Bayern and now, by all accounts Kane likes Ange and is probably looking forward to working with him, also his wife will drop another baby soon so it's more upheaval for his family as well.

I think he's banking on the fact at sticking it out at Spurs for a year to see where we are and if he's happy then commit his future to Spurs and if not leave on a free and have his pick of clubs to go to, from his point of view that would probably be the best thing for him because he will have everything in his own hands
