Happy with Veliz, Orban and Scarlett (if he’s looking body and mind ready to fight those two, to fight Richarlison…).

To be honest, be well happy to see those three as our front three in a cup game (or more likely U23s).

Allows surely a top tier CB, if we get scouting right this time. Then a Hojbjerg upgrade.

I think if Orban comes then Scarlett goes on loan. Sounds like Veliz won’t play to start but sticks around to acclimatise.

I’d be fine with Richy Orban and Son as the central options.

Just hope they don’t make a vanity attempt at a #9 style Kane replacement. Seems pretty clear Ange doesn’t want that

Yeah, I think he's good, often impressed with him in European games. Would be a nice alternate for Bissouma as the six, and both also capable of playing as an 8, and both technical and physical enough to give you a good base in tougher games as a double pivot. Do think he's technically a good bit short of reaching the highest level though. Impressed with Mats Wieffer as well in Europe last season, similar player kinda. Both have size as well, which we need to add. Top teams now generally well stocked with players 6 foot and above.

Haven't seen anything of Wieffer. What's he about?

I quite like Manu Koné at BMG (another ex-Toulouse alumni). Another in that Sangare/BIssouma type mould. Athletic, Strong, tackles, can play under a bit of press.

Wieffer is kind of like Declan Rice without the outstanding ball carrying. I haven't seen much of Kone tbh, looked good for France over the summer before he was injured.

Our past managers can tell you all about signings they didn't want.

With Ange confirming Veliz won't play for the first part of the season I think it's safe to assume we bring another forward in. He was also pretty bullish on Son as the central forward.

Son --- Rich --- Kulu
(Perisic)---- (???) --- (Solomon)
My ideal signing would be someone who could play across the line and really challenge for a starting spot, I don't think Orban is that guy.

Hard to find a multifunctional forward who could do any of the jobs to the required level. Especially when not paying top dollar.

What was said about Veliz? I haven’t had chance to catch up yet. Cheers 👍🏻

That he will need time, it's a much higher level etc.

And said he is unlikely to feature in the first part of the season. I guess he will get a loan in Jan.

Is Belgium (Orban) a significantly higher level than Argentina (Veliz)?

With regard to a lot of the chatter in here; I don't understand why the former is seen as so much more of a legit proposition for EPL game-time than the latter?

Ange re Veliz

''It will be a while for him, I think. We've just got to let him settle, he's come halfway around the world," said the Spurs head coach. "He's a young guy, it's a fairly different level. He's one we'll invest in in the long-term but I wouldn't expect him to see any minutes in the first part of the season."

Trolling Conte.

End up starting Veliz against ManU

Tough question to answer.

Orban scored 20 goals in 22 matches last season in Belgium league and europe, so he's certainly on a roll and aged 21

Veliz has scored about 17 goals in about 50 professional matches in Argentina aged 19

The Argentinian league is said to be less competitive than it used to be because over 800 Argentinian layers play outside Argentina. No idea how it compares to Belgium league

Veliz and rest of Argentina u20's did not particularly shine in the u20 WC held at home in June.

So I guess its going to come down to the football scouts who have made up their minds - but 19 year old starters in PL are rare beasts.

Yes he did lol, Veliz scored 3 goals in 4 games.
