He’s got a much higher chance of being Soldado than he does of being a top class center forward for us lol. The guy is still a raw ball of clay. And no never in his life will he be as good as Haaland, who is a once-in-a-generation physical freak with an AI for instincts and agility. Nor will he ever be Kane, or Son for that matter, let’s just put that to bed as it’s completely unrealistic.

If he actually becomes as good as Callum Wilson that is in the top 10% of outcomes we can hope for. I’m all for hype and hope but people have gotten extremely carried away.
And yet you take a polar opposite stance with statements starting with "he will never be."

Agreed that some have gone overboard with the praise, but to make definitive statements like you have are just as bad.

Kane, at that age, was being written off as no better than league one level. Son still has those on here saying he's nothing more than pretty good. Haaland you're bang on about though, he's generational.

There's something about this Orban kid though. Ball of clay is a good description, and I can't think of a better manager to mould that ball of clay than AP.

I hope we do get him as I have a feeling he'll do extremely well. He has those predatory instincts that no amount of coaching will instill into a player. Refining his game will maximise them.

The reason why I’m a little hesitant on the Orban move is imo he really does need time on loan. The things he must improve on are almost entirely “game time vs men” related, dealing with physical contact, playing hold-up, playing within a system and combining with teammates, holding off players, building confidence against packed defenses.

20 minutes every other week in the Prem is a great way to stagnate development imo.

We REALLY need to get back into Europe so we can start developing these young guys and newbies in-house and in OUR system.

People want more MFs too.

................We have a massive squad that needs game-time.

This was always the fallacy that we'd be better off trying to rebuild without it....... We were never gonna rebuild AND mount a meaningful title challenge (aka doing a Chelsea in 2017).

"Money burning in my pocket? I don't have any money burning in my pocket. My wife does a good job of making sure it doesn't go there. That's harsh on my wife.... she deserves it. To spend it I mean, I'm getting myself into a hole here!" joked the Australian.

Ali is editorialising what he said, Ange said we we're not looking for a number nine to replace Kane, obviously prospects do not fall under that umbrella.
Yeah, the question was phrased to say spending big on a like for like replacement which would be silly.

I stand by the comment that he will never be Haaland. What Haaland does on the football pitch is only possible because he’s 6’5” and probably the strongest player in the entire PL, and one of the fastest as well.

Funny enough Conte would’ve loved the schedule we have this year. He’s only good when there’s no Europe as you alluded to.

It's pretty dopey to compare him to Haaland, I really don't see why he needs to be compared to anyone really, let alone one of the top 5 strikers on Earth.

I'm not calling you dopey btw 🥴

I've seen very little of the kid, but what I have seen leads me to believe that he has a real predator's instincts and, more importantly, he has the desire and application to work at being the best he can be.

If I were to make a comparison, that is where I'd be comparing him to Kane. He might not have the all round Footballing ability that Kane has, but what really elevated Kane was his dedication to being the best he could possibly be.

Another you could potentially compare him to is Ian Wright, who came from non league Football and became a goon legend.

Ask any top pro and they'll tell you that talent is only part of the equation. Application, desire and self belief make up the larger part of getting to the top.

Ndombele is a prime example of how just having talent simply isn't enough.
