Even Ali Gold in his latest article has reiterated the point ..

"Tanguy Ndombele appears to have missed another chance to find a place at the north London club. football.london understands that despite a bright start Postecoglou grew unimpressed with the Frenchman's attitude and application as pre-season wore on, including his time-keeping."

He goes on to also say his fitness is quite behind others and ange wont play players that cant play his high tempo as it would be a detriment to both the team and player

Well, I’m shocked what an unlikely turn of events

this looks like a punt rather than sure thing. nigerian kid who didnt start playing football until recently and is playing in a league outside the top 5? this is far from a sure thing. glad the price quoted is under 30m.

if we was to get him and another top striker that means we have 4 strikers for one spot? thats an overkill
We're not getting another top striker. There isn't really another top striker available anyway, Kolo Muani is going to PSG, and Vlahovic is currently linked with Chelsea (and is not a top striker anyway).

I hope for everyone's sake he learns the very basics of how to defend if that's the case.

Yes well aware. He doesnt need to become brilliant or anything, but he needs to at least contain the his winger and have better awareness.

If he can do this, our attack will be so much better. There were a couple plays that Emerson really ruined in the attack yesterday.

Left Bale and Vinicius off as loans. I think its as bad a window as we've had tbh just in terms of utter mediocrity. Wasted more money the year before obviously. Doherty we paid out of his contract he was so poor, Rodon we cant give away, Hart was binned after a year and we're looking to sell Reggie and Hojbjerg. It was dreadful.

Yup mediocrity is a fair word to describe it.

Its just that compared to the clusterfuck of 2019 with Ndombele, LoCelso and Sessegnon, 2020 was (sadly) better !

And its why I'm so grateful that whilst there's been a number of decent arrivals each window since (even though there will always be the odd mistake too) so in 2021 we brought in (sometimes on loans), Romero, Royal, Bentancur, Kulusevski and Sarr, whilst Gill we are still not sure of and we didn't convert Gollini from a loan - overall a better selection of players than any of 2016-20 (possibly excepting Hojbjerg and Bale). ..... so 5 players we could seriously call first team squad players. Same sort of numbers in 2022 and this window.

Which top striker do you want?

Are there any top strikers?

I think we just sold the only one.

Fine..... Dodgy/greedy business man if that distinction means something to you; but the essence of my post remains exactly the same.

I don't.... I just think he's a patsy..... (And quite likely a massive dick!)

If Levy started doing such things he'd be accused of meddling..... Perhaps rightly so too.

Levy did however step in and try to kick Ndombele up the arse..... And got ridiculed.
That's cos Levy is a tiny and bald man.

I can think of one in particular that I liked one hell of a lot tho..... :llorishowudoin:

I've shit on Royal as much as the next guy but I actually think he's tidy in this system.

Feels a lot more secure with him there. Okay you wont get the great deliveries of Porro but you also won't concede on every attack.

He needs to swivel his head and become more aware, the amount of players he lets run off him is crazy, also that 4th goal Barca scored last week, everyone blames Dier but Porro who was looking across the line didn't even bother to close the gap, mental...the guy isn't a defender at all - unless he gets some serious coaching it's doubtful he'll start for us consistently.

not got a clue i dont watch much football outside of spurs and the heavyweight clashes so i wouldnt have a clue mate. you?

these strikers from inferior leagues are always going to be a bit of a punt due to the standard they are coming from aint they.

i suppose the logical choice right now is toney aint it?
