Couldn't give a fuck about their profit. Would love it if they actually tried to compete financially instead of looking for miracles from managers.

OK.... What striker.......? We're back at square one.........

....................BUT; 50m over the value is not a "little over the odds".

It was rubbish anyway. Rice isn't a 50m player in this market.

Caicedo has gone for 110m. Lavia is going for 60. Rice is HG AND at least as good as Caicedo.

They overpaid but not by much. And within 3-4 years people probably won't even look on it as overpaying as the market is shifting again and 100m transfers won't be a remotely big deal for the top 6 teams soon.

The back up to Richarlison is Son playing through the middle. What we need is someone who can compete for the first team spot with a real chance of taking the shirt, I still think Vlahovic is the obvious choice.
Right now, but obviously it's not ideal for a starter in one position to be a backup for another position. E.g. if Ange wants to sub Richarlison off in the 70th minute to freshen up our attack he doesn't really have anyone to put on right now.

Not my numbers mate; they're the other dude's....... Besides the concept being debated remains the same.

Shift Sonny accross and bring on Solomon or Perisic...... Or Porro.......

We certainly shouldn't overpay 2x the valuation just because.

Maddison/Bissouma are definitely two examples of no brainer, smart signings which paid off and instantly upgraded us without being overly expensive.

Those kind of players don't always become available and knowing when it is worth paying the massive fee and when you walk away from those is a bit of an art that can easily go wrong. Unless you're Chelsea and then you just pay it anyway and if it goes wrong you flog 'em to Saudi a year later.

I'm torn between wanting to give this front 3 a run in the team versus the desire to give a look to other players.

I assume things will be juggled over the coming weeks and I highly doubt we'll end the season with the same starters as we're beginning the season with; but any flash judgements based on 1 page and one specific set of circumstances is extremely hasty.

...But you could just sub off Son and get a better effect, it doesn't solve anything. You don't have fresh legs to bring in for Richarlison, so the problem remains.

Why is it to "better effect"? It's just different.

One would assume you typically change a CF to give the CBs something a little different to handle, not that they've gassed out.

Man you are dumb. I’m done with you, life is too short 👍

Trust me... I'm not being dumb.... I'm being mildly facetious, granted; but that's because you're avoiding the difficult question(s)...... i.e. The very punchline to your very first post.

...And whether you like it or not you DID say pay 100m for a 50m player and that's NOT overpaying by just "a little bit".

You started off with plenty of bluster; where has it gone all of a sudden?

Because Son is older and plays on the wing, both imply that he would need to be subbed off before Richy, so if you want to only sub one player off subbing Richy instead of Son is going to be less effective.

You want to freshen up the CF position by putting a 31-year-old who played 70 minutes there, that is not as effective as subbing on a player from the bench.
