I don't disagree entirely, but the nature of FFP is such that all clubs have to mind their P's and Q's in that regard, and if Chelsea are making a mockery of those restrictions in some way, I'm sure everyone is annoyed, they've all had to think through compliance with those regulations and operate accordingly. It’s a good question.
At the moment, I suspect Brighton are thrilled that Chelsea are flashing their cash. The majority of PL clubs, from say Villa down, couldn’t really give a fuck which doped up club wins. They write off those games and then look to finish as high up the table as possible and perhaps get a European spot.
It’s only the teams that want to be competitive, at least in terms of CL revenue that care. Liverpool, in the space of 18 months, have gone from a near Quadruple to worrying about getting into the CL,
That said, clubs get very, very fucking angry when you tap up their youth players, as you’re trying to steal the asset before the ‘fee has matured’. But realistically, who at Brighton or Southampton gives a fuck when they’re receiving those sorts of funds. That 60 million for Lavia is pretty much promotion money without having to get promoted.
It's a bit like when Formula 1 teams all start complaining and trying to shut down some novel design innovation that they never imagined would be legal under the rules.
