More talk of Lo Celso heading to Napoli, if both him and Hojbjerg leave then we will need to sign two new midfielders.

I understand that nobody wants our trash players but we are giving ourselves a lot to do this late in the window.
We are giving ourselves a lot to do because Levy doesn't intend to buy the players we need in this window.

He’s talented and skilful but I’m not convinced he can influence a game of football tbh. Probably outstanding in training, small sided games etc
Needs to play second striker in the prem because FBs in the prem are all athletic enough to recover when he beats them and strong enough to bully him a lot of the time.

Arriving late and playing 1-2s in the 10 role it could work but I like Maddison a lot more and we wouldn’t be able to play them together

Only 2 weeks of this madness go………………………..

Until next time

Yep. I think madness is maybe hoping things will be different.

Absolutely have feet on the ground at my grand age but I am staggered we sold Kane, which was all but certain to happen, and have nobody in as a consequence.

That, even for someone who has moved into the middle ground of expectation beggars belief.

One poor result tomorrow and it gets panicky. Should not be like that.

If you think of the strikers we've had, Keane, Defoe, Berbatov, Kane, and now we're relying on Richarlison. He's a level below, I don't even think he's a better CF than Son.

Yeah, part of me thinks “at least we have moved past Kane now”

Think it will be a tough season, but new heroes will come and we will recover. This TW has been poor as things stand though

Agree on the past Kane. We needed to get past that stage.

We should though have identified a successor and last season showed that whatever qualities Rucharlison may have, scoring goals does not seem to be one of them!

But yep, now we are in a Kaneless era but for fcuk sake that is not to say we should also be in a strikerless one.

I don't see us spending 55-60m on a player from another league under this ownership, or at least not any time soon. Firmly believe that the Ndombele saga burnt Levy bad to the point where he'll only pull the trigger on players where he knows what we're getting.

Don't necessarily disagree with your second point, but we'll need to adapt. For the EPL transfer fees have changed to the point where we either pay:
  • through the nose for English HG players
  • substantial fees for good/great players from other European clubs
  • a premium for high potential youngster.
  • 5-10m for completely unknown young punts from South America
In other words the whole market is fucked.
60M fee for Ndom is more like 100M now due to the changing market
