I don't see us spending 55-60m on a player from another league under this ownership, or at least not any time soon. Firmly believe that the Ndombele saga burnt Levy bad to the point where he'll only pull the trigger on players where he knows what we're getting.
Don't necessarily disagree with your second point, but we'll need to adapt. For the EPL transfer fees have changed to the point where we either pay:
- through the nose for English HG players
- substantial fees for good/great players from other European clubs
- a premium for high potential youngster.
- 5-10m for completely unknown young punts from South America
In other words the whole market is fucked.
