I'd have rather played Leyton Orient and Colchester than waste time on the other side of the world playing in ludicrous conditions our players won't have to endure during a season.I think there could have been one more game (As I said, shame Leicester and Roma didn't go ahead as would have been better than practically a training game against Lions).
But I don't have any issues with how our pre-season went outside of that. Ange got to see (like we did) who was good enough and who wasn't. You don't need to play 6, 7, 8 games to figure it out. He'd have seen alot more in training than in the friendly games.
The big issue in the off season was either not getting deals done quicker and as we currently see, getting rid of the deadwood. Though likely not easy when no one actually wants them.
It's a crowded shit hole. I can't wait to get away when I finish work or games. There's also London-London, like the city and near the ground, and then there's the outer areas that are nothing like that.most of our squad 100% live in London. Kane was in the process of moving more centrally. I've spoken to agents who tell me that living in London (central London )is a very big draw for Latin American and African players and in particularly their wives. What Ive noticed about my fellow English men is that its them who are down on London. All the Italians I know personally (family and freinds!) Would not choose to live north of Watford if they could at all help in fact they'd rather root canal. Its like inverse patriotism. Lol

WhatabouteryConversely, don't you see the similarities with other clubs?
For example, if you talk to woolwich fans (shudder...) won't they same much the same about Pepe, Tavares, Nelson, Elneny, Soares, Holding etc as we say about our deadwood? Doesn't every club have some deadwood that's hard to shift? (Apologies if anyone doesn't consider any of those deadwood - I admit that was a list lazily compiled by just looking through the squad).
Not necessarily saying they are the same exactly, just that for all clubs it's not easy to shift deadwood, that doesn't apply just to us.

The fact money and PR is now more important than football is a glowing example of what's going wrong in the game.
And for once, no I don't hold Levy responsible. He's just doing what the rest are to try to keep up.
Nope."It doesn't matter if it's true or not"
Richard Arlison - Jun 2023.
Paraphrasing; but absolutely reflective of what you've argued aginst me in recent days on numerous topics.
You don’t want to answer the question?
If we had Saudi dollars we would be serious competitors in no time at all.
Instead we are stuck with the failure bunch, for how long is anyone's guess.
Have to sell to buy…
Can’t bring anyone in until we shift these players that we have needed to shift for 3 or 4 years now…
I realised when Harry was in charge, that these lot we would achieve nothing with them.I'm 42 and I believe entirely that this regime will outlast me.
I'll either get so sick of Spurs I'll commit to one of my other hobbies more full time, or they'll just pass it from person to person within the Levy/ENIC world for decades and I'll just get old and die.
And I doubt I'll see much success.
Bet we didn’t cross him off because of his past, though.
Levy was probably still dithering over whether to progress his interest to the “preparing a bid” stage but figured it was still a bit early in the window.

Goals like this make me like the idea of getting an Orban and a Nuamah, not spending 70m on Mitoma.
Just shows how much talent there is outside the big leagues and how lazy it is to just scout big leagues.
How exactly is that advancing the conversation? I'm simply explaining that getting rid of deadwood is not a problem only for us, but for all clubs. It's absolutely relevant to the conversation of the last few pages, where many seem to think that we are the only club struggling to remove deadwood - we're not.

I thought that Levy's gin palace was supposed to be the game changer for us, an unrelenting piggy bank that we could tap into in order to compete with the likes of the top four?
Appears that we have all just been taken for mugs, and looking at the season ticket prices, are still are being taken as mugs.
The mans nothing more than a snake oil salesman.
Is this some sort of glass cleaning joke?
