I’m not suggesting we sign a like for like replacement. Bentancur is coming back from a very serious injury snd I would expect very little from him this season. If Bentancur is not available what is our next best replacement for Bissouma? Skipp? PEH? they can’t anything close to what Bissouma has done in the last 2 games
Would have to be sarr, no? Granted he’s better used elsewhere, it his work rate and ability on the ball make him the best option at 6 if it comes to it.

Only on an online Spurs forum would we slag a player off, call him a Gooner, and say he has a weak mentality because he’s already agreed a deal to be another club’s starting CB and we’re only offering him a back-up role.

You lot are seriously deluded.
We are so lucky that non-deluded posters like yourself can keep educating all us dopes.

Sell him to Monaco and buy Dier with the cash then..... Not rocket science.
Can someone with an accounting background ( Zomb ?) explain why it’s financially more advantageous to swap Tosin for Dier and, say, Ā£5m than sell Tosin for Ā£10m and buy Dier for Ā£5m with regard to tax or FFP or other implications (providing the swap books a realistic price for Dier).
Or is this just about agent’s fees and sundries?

You don't want to back yourself being first choice in a Premier League team and choose to join worse league where you don't test yourself week in week out.

Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusyhole
Your argument doesn’t make any sense.

He is a professional footballer. Playing football is the job. How the fuck is sitting on the bench more of a ā€œtestā€ of himself than actually playing?

We bought Van de Ven over him for Ā£40m, that shows pretty clearly what our priorities are at Centre Half, and it’s not him.

It never fails to amaze how short term thinking is, based on a result. Always the same. We beat United and for sone it's all good.

I am comfortable saying and being absolutely certain that we need and must get a striker of note before the window clowew.

If, in the absence of a younger striker of note, it's Lukaku, then 100% fine with me.

Not changing that view, whether a 100 people disagree with me or not

We are not equipped at present.
Agree totally we need a striker no matter how good it’s going just now. If it was choice to have Lukaku or Richarlison starting for us then I’d chose Lukaku all day. He’d score loads of goals with us with how we play plus we’d have a real presence up top. He’s fucking marmite though but one thing for sure he’d give us that fear factor. Defenders hate playing against that type of player. I don’t believe we will sign him as I think we will sign someone like Orban in that price range and that’s it before the window shuts. I think the right player is more important than how much we pay for someone just now. If we get the centre forward signing right then we could be special this season.

Interesting development with jota. How will saudis handle things like this? No one can pay what they paid for players, so are they content to continue to blow money and sell for a loss or do they not care about a player’s wishes and say fuck you your ass is ours now?

How can we be better than Toney and Watkins right now? Who would we attract (and also afford) above that level?

Possibly no-one; but I'm responding to this notion of "ambition"..... (Over)Paying a big whack for less than enticing options isn't really the kind of "ambition" I'd be keen to get behind; nor is signing Tony for a 'now problem'.

So; no... Not arguing for the sake of it at all.

How do you know what role we've offered him?

Why do you think he's coming to sit on the bench?

Why do you think that players cannot be rotated or force their way into the team?

He's going to an uber shit league effectively dropping down a division, you don't learn anything over there especially when you've already played in the PL

No we bought Van de Ven because we NEEDED him to ft our playstyle, it wasn't an either/or scenario that you're suggesting.

You must really enjoy being incorrect.
