Hugo showing up for training months after announcing he's leaving....

I would add to this that woolwich ditched Ozil and Aubamayang without too much detriment to them. In fact, they’ve gone from strength to strength. Both were on big contracts but happy enough to be paid off and shipped out.
Bingo. Very similar situation. Woolwich has undergone the culture transformation we need to.

Ozil & PEA both had new clubs to go to which ensured they wouldn't be out of pocket in terms of their wages.... You can bet your ass they would both have sat out the last 6months of their deals on full pay otherwise.

Ndombele - £10.4m remaining on his contract
Dier - £4.42m remaining on his contract
Lloris - £5.2m

You all want to give them £20m to go away? £20m to go and sign for no fee for a PL team and play against us, at our expense.

Use your common sense. It'll cost us exactly the same to make them sit at home getting fat.

Ndombele has 2 years left on contract, so its £20m for just him to terminate his contract

Gaaaaah this is simple economics

If WE are paying their wages - WHY would WE want them playing for another club against us?
Make the fuckers sit at home watching us on MOTD but under no circumstances should we pay them to play for some one else.

That threat alone should make them look for a new club and willingly remove themselves from the wage bill. THAT saves us money and gets rid of the player.
Make them play for a club in the championship or division 1, we are paying them after all so surely they have to do as we want, make it so the best option is for them to take the agreed deal else where

DIER: YEARS LEFT 1 = 4.4m
SANCHEZ: YEARS LEFT 1 = 3.3m
REGUILLON: YEARS LEFT 2 = 5m
TANGANGA: YEARS LEFT 2 = 2.6m

Also made an appearance on many people's out lists early in the summer:

SESSENGON: YEARS LEFT 2 = 6m
PERISIC: YEARS LEFT 1 = 9.3m
PEH: YEARS LEFT 2 = 10.6m
SPENCE: YEARS LEFT 4 = 5.2m

You can't make them do that. All that can be done is to make staying at Spurs the worst situation.
We are legally obliged to pay them, they have no obligation to sign for anyone else and we can't force them to. All we can do is make the entire scenario as uncomfortable as possible.

Even then, they could possibly still go running to the CAS and complain about something.

Wot, why can't we sign more players ?

Where's the money gone ? Spurs must be paying dividends

If Ndombele is just content to sit on his arse and pick up a salary I don't really see there being an issue paying off his contract. We'll inevitably be paying it and every year that passes decreases the likelihood anyone will want to buy him. Doubtful anyone would match his wages

Doesn't strike me as having much drive to prove us wrong

Barnes can't play CF though.

There was a context-specific logic to the Richarlison deal in July 2022 that has been blown all to hell now, but you gotta understand it in those terms.
I maintain that Richarlison was a good transfer and a good bit of squad building (someone who can play with and without Kane, a proven PL goalscorer, a great physical presence) especially as Conte seemed to absolutely love him, the issue is just that he hasn’t played well.
